Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic HR & IR professional to lead Human Resources and Industrial Relations functions for a large manufacturing facility. The incumbent will be responsible for driving workforce effectiveness, maintaining harmonious industrial relations, ensuring statutory compliance, and supporting business objectives through strategic people management practices.
Key Responsibilities
Human Resources Management
- Lead and oversee all HR operations including manpower planning, recruitment, onboarding, performance management, employee engagement, learning & development, and retention initiatives.
- Develop and implement HR policies, systems, and processes aligned with organizational objectives.
- Drive talent management and succession planning initiatives across the plant.
- Manage industrial relations activities and maintain a positive employee relations environment.
- Handle interactions with employee representatives, unions, and labor authorities.
- Resolve employee grievances, disciplinary matters, and industrial disputes effectively.
- Ensure industrial harmony and minimize disruptions to business operations.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable labor laws, factory regulations, and statutory requirements.
- Liaise with government departments, labor authorities, and regulatory bodies.
- Monitor and ensure timely submission of statutory returns, audits, and inspections.
- Manage a large manufacturing workforce including permanent employees, contract labor, and third-party manpower.
- Monitor workforce productivity, attendance, discipline, and employee welfare initiatives.
- Drive employee communication and engagement programs.
- Partner with plant leadership and business heads to support organizational goals.
- Provide strategic HR guidance to senior management on people-related matters.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to drive organizational effectiveness and culture initiatives.
- MBA/MSW in Human Resources, Personnel Management, Industrial Relations, or related discipline.
- 15+ years of experience in HR & IR functions within a manufacturing environment.
- Proven experience in managing a large manufacturing workforce.
- Strong exposure to Human Resources and Industrial Relations functions.
- Experience in the pharmaceutical, chemical, or other process manufacturing industries will be preferred.
- Sound knowledge of labor laws, statutory compliances, and industrial relations practices.
- Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, employee relations, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to manage complex workforce challenges and drive organizational change.
