Resident Engineer – Audio Visual , Video Conferencing & IT Infrastructure

Location

NICL Headquarters, Rajarhat, Kolkata

Employment Type

Full-Time (On-site)

Contract Duration

Initially for 5 years, extendable as per project requirements.

Working Hours

  • Monday to Saturday
  • 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM (9 Hours)
  • Availability beyond office hours, Sundays, and holidays during emergencies or whenever called upon.

Job Summary

The RE will be responsible for the day-to-day operation, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, monitoring, and support of the Audio Visual , Video Conferencing , networking, and related IT infrastructure deployed at NICL Headquarters. The RE shall ensure maximum system uptime, adherence to Service Level Agreements (SLAs), and seamless support during meetings, conferences, and critical events.

Key Responsibilities

AV & Video Conferencing Support

  • Operate, monitor, troubleshoot, and maintain all AV and Video Conferencing systems.
  • Provide real-time technical support during meetings, conferences, presentations, and official events.
  • Configure and troubleshoot VC endpoints, cameras, microphones, DSPs, displays, LED walls, projectors, and control systems.
  • Ensure readiness of conference rooms before scheduled meetings.

System Maintenance

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance of all AV and VC equipment.
  • Monitor overall health and performance of installed systems.
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and integration issues.
  • Coordinate with OEMs and service partners for escalations and warranty support.

Network & IT Support

  • Support network connectivity related to AV and VC solutions.
  • Assist in basic network management, IP configuration, VLAN connectivity, and device communication.
  • Support IT security practices applicable to AV and VC infrastructure.
  • Ensure firmware and software updates are applied as approved.

Incident Management

  • Attend all complaints within defined SLA timelines.
  • Record, track, and close incidents through the prescribed ticketing mechanism.
  • Escalate unresolved issues appropriately.
  • Maintain complaint history and resolution records.

Documentation

  • Maintain preventive maintenance records.
  • Maintain inventory of installed equipment.
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports.
  • Maintain asset movement and service logs.
  • Update network diagrams and system documentation whenever required.

Coordination

  • Coordinate with NICL officials, OEMs, and implementation teams.
  • Assist during system upgrades, expansions, relocations, and testing activities.
  • Support acceptance testing and performance verification.

Educational Qualification

  • Bachelor of Engineering or Bachelor of Technology in:
    • Electronics & Communication Engineering
    • Electrical Engineering
    • Computer Science
    • Information Technology
    • Electronics & Instrumentation
    • or Equivalent discipline
Experience

  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in:
    • Audio Visual (AV) Solutions
    • Video Conferencing Systems
    • Network Management
    • IT Security Management
Mandatory Certifications

  • Relevant AVIXA Certification (CTS/CTS-I/CTS-D) or
  • Equivalent OEM Certification on the proposed AV/VC solution.

The engineer should have hands-on knowledge of:

Employment Conditions

  • The RE shall be a direct employee of the successful bidder and not employed through any franchisee or subcontractor.
  • The engineer must possess a valid company-issued Identity Card.
  • Deployment is subject to successful interview and approval by NICL officials.
  • NICL reserves the right to seek replacement of the engineer if performance is found unsatisfactory.
  • Frequent rotation of the RE shall not be permitted. Any change shall require prior written intimation to NICL except under unavoidable circumstances.
  • The successful bidder shall provide an assurance that the deployed engineer meets all qualification requirements and has been fully trained on the proposed solution before deployment.
  • In case of engineer replacement, a minimum 15-day knowledge transfer (KT) period shall be ensured before relieving the existing engineer.
  • The bidder shall arrange additional manpower whenever required to maintain system uptime and comply with SLA commitments, without any additional cost to NICL.
