Job Summary
The Technical Analyst will play a crucial role in supporting trading strategies and investment decisions by analyzing market data through advanced technical analysis methods. The ideal candidate is highly analytical, possesses strong expertise in technical indicators, and is proficient with professional charting tools. This position is best suited for professionals with 7+ years of experience, but exceptionally qualified freshers with a Chartered Market Technician (CMT) certification from a reputed institution will also be considered.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct technical analysis on equities, derivatives, and indices to identify trends, patterns, and trading opportunities.
- Generate daily, weekly, and intraday technical reports and market outlooks for internal and client use.
- Maintain and refine technical models, trading strategies, and analytical tools for enhanced research outcomes.
- Support the dealing desk and portfolio managers with trade recommendations and risk management insights.
- Backtest and validate technical trading models against historical market data.
- Communicate complex technical findings effectively through reports and presentations.
- Stay abreast of the latest trends, tools, and methodologies in the field of technical analysis.
Required Skills and Competencies
- Deep understanding of technical indicators like RSI, MACD, Fibonacci retracement, candlestick patterns, Elliott Waves, etc.
- Advanced proficiency in market charting/charting platforms (e.g., TradingView, Bloomberg Terminal, MetaStock).
- Excellent quantitative, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
- Clear communication and report-writing ability for conveying complex findings to diverse stakeholders.
- Strong collaboration skills for working in fast-paced trading environments.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Statistics, or a related discipline from a reputed institution (mandatory).
- Certification in Technical Analysis from a recognized institution (mandatory).
- Chartered Market Technician (CMT) certification (mandatory; freshers with CMT will also be considered).
- Minimum 7 years’ direct experience in technical or equity analysis within a broking or financial services environment preferred; freshers with CMT from a reputed institution will also be considered.
