Genaral Manager, Sales - Vijayawada

We are looking for an experienced and commercially astute General Manager – Sales to lead Sales and Marketing operations across Vijayawada Zone (Vijayawada to Srikakulam and Old Khammam District). This is a pivotal leadership role responsible for driving sustainable business growth, strengthening market presence, and ensuring effective execution of the company's strategic priorities across multiple regions. As the custodian of the company's business within the zone, you will work closely with multiple internal stakeholders and cross-functional teams to translate business strategy into actionable plans, build organizational capability, and capitalize on emerging market opportunities.
What You'll Do
- Lead the development, communication, and execution of comprehensive zonal business plans aligned with organizational strategy.
- Define region-wise sales targets based on revenue potential, market opportunities, and business priorities.
- Strategically allocate high-margin products across regions to maximize profitability and business performance.
- Drive performance management through regular reviews, strategic guidance, and focused interventions to bridge performance gaps.
- Build and develop high-performing sales teams through coaching, training, cross-functional exposure, and continuous capability development.
- Enable teams to respond effectively to changing market conditions, customer needs, competitive dynamics, and emerging opportunities.
- Provide strategic insights on regional agronomic practices, market trends, competitor movements, and business development opportunities.
- Foster collaboration and knowledge-sharing across regions to strengthen execution and optimize business outcomes.
- Ensure adherence to company policies, organizational values, compliance requirements, and expected standards of conduct.
- Represent the company's interests with credibility and professionalism across internal and external stakeholder engagements.
- Agri Graduate with 10–15 years of experience in regional/zonal sales operations within the agriculture/agrochemical industry.
- Strong understanding of regional agronomic practices, principal crops, and associated pest and disease challenges.
- Comprehensive knowledge of agrochemical product categories, competitive dynamics, market trends, and the regulatory environment.
- Proven experience leading and developing large, geographically diverse sales teams.
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to translate market insights into actionable business strategies.
- Demonstrated expertise in performance management, target setting, business planning, and driving accountability.
- Excellent influencing, communication, relationship-building, and conflict-resolution capabilities.
- Strategic thinker with strong operational discipline and the ability to balance growth, profitability, and sustainability.
