Position Summary

SSOE Group is seeking a talented Senior Electrical Engineer to support projects within our Automotive and Manufacturing Business Unit. This role involves direct client interaction, multidisciplinary coordination, technical leadership, and the successful execution of projects while ensuring quality, budget, and schedule objectives are met.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Interface with clients to understand project requirements, define scope of work, and provide regular progress updates.
  • Design electrical power distribution, lighting, grounding, and associated building systems for industrial and manufacturing facilities based out of USA.
  • Apply advanced electrical engineering principles and industry best practices to develop innovative and cost-effective design solutions.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including Architectural, Structural, Civil, Mechanical, Plumbing, HVAC, and Process Engineering disciplines.
  • Develop electrical design documents including single-line diagrams, equipment layouts, specifications, calculations, and construction drawings.
  • Prepare and review bid packages, technical specifications, and engineering documentation.
  • Provide technical direction and guidance to designers and junior engineers to ensure quality and consistency of deliverables.
  • Ensure designs comply with applicable codes, standards, client requirements, and company engineering practices.
  • Identify and resolve complex engineering challenges while maintaining project schedules and budgets.
  • Participate in design reviews, interdisciplinary coordination meetings, and client presentations.
  • Support procurement and construction activities through technical reviews, vendor submittals, RFIs, and shop drawing evaluations.
  • Manage multiple projects concurrently while ensuring timely and accurate project delivery.

Required Qualifications

  • Full-time bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from an accredited university.
  • 10–15 years of experience in the design of power distribution (LV, MV & HV) from utility feed, lighting, and grounding systems for large industrial, manufacturing, or commercial facilities.
  • Proven ability to prepare bid drawings, technical specifications, and provide effective direction to design support staff.
  • Strong understanding of electrical engineering design principles, system calculations, and construction documentation.
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects while meeting delivery schedules and budget requirements.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Familiarity with international engineering codes and standards, preferably U.S. codes and standards (NEC, IEEE, IESNA).
  • Willingness to work late evening hours to effectively collaborate with U.S.-based project teams.

Qualifications

  • Preferred Qualifications
    • Experience with classified/hazardous area design.
    • Working knowledge of Revit and BIM methodologies.
    • Experience with engineering and coordination tools such as Revit MEP, Navisworks, BIM 360, and similar platforms.
    • Experience supporting automotive, manufacturing, semiconductor, pharmaceutical, or other industrial facility projects.
