Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform incoming quality inspection of all mechanical parts and components.
- Carry out sub-assembly and final assembly of fabricated parts.
- Supervise assembly activities and shop floor operations.
- Train and guide operators on proper assembly methods and procedures.
- Maintain assembly records, production documents, and inspection reports.
- Ensure assemblies are completed according to engineering drawings, SOPs, fits, and tolerances.
- Perform fastening and torque control of precision mechanical assemblies.
- Develop optimal assembly sequences to improve productivity and quality.
- Use measuring instruments such as Vernier Caliper and Height Gauge for inspection and measurement.
- Handle basic wiring and connectors during assembly activities.
- Maintain proper 5S, safety, and cleanliness standards on the shop floor.
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
- Knowledge of fits and tolerances.
- Knowledge of mechanical assembly methods.
- Understanding of fastening and torque control.
- Ability to create efficient assembly sequences.
- Hands-on experience with assembly tools and measuring instruments.
- Basic knowledge of wiring and connectors.
- Basic computer knowledge.
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
- ITI
- 3–8 years of experience in mechanical fitting, mechanical assembly, incoming quality control, new product manufacturing, or production environments.
- Prior experience in robotics, automation, or Special Purpose Machines (SPMs) is highly desirable.
- Two-wheeler and four-wheeler workshop experience will also be considered.
- Experience in engine or gearbox overhaul and OEM/dealer workshops is preferred.
