Guardian of Childhood is a youth-led nonprofit working to advance children's rights and create safer environments where every child can learn, grow, and thrive.

We develop educational resources, awareness campaigns, workshops, and community initiatives that promote child protection, digital safety, mental well-being, and positive participation. Our work is guided by the principles of dignity, inclusion, respect, and the best interests of every child.

We collaborate with students, educators, parents, youth volunteers, civil society organizations, and community partners to encourage informed action and strengthen child-centered communities. Through education and advocacy, we aim to help people understand children's rights and their shared responsibility in protecting them.

About The Opportunity

Guardian of Childhood is seeking an experienced professional to serve as Senior Advisor — Child Rights & Protection for a one-year advisory term. This is a strategic, non-executive advisory position supporting our work in child-rights literacy, safeguarding, youth participation, education, humanitarian initiatives, and research.

What You’ll Do

  • Provide strategic guidance on child-rights and protection programming.
  • Review and advise on educational resources, including child-rights learning materials.
  • Advise on safeguarding, child participation, and ethical engagement with children and young people.
  • Provide expert input on Guardian Academy, Guardian Humanitarian, publications, campaigns, and related initiatives.
  • Participate in periodic advisory meetings with the Founder and leadership team.
  • Help strengthen Guardian of Childhood’s professional standards, policies, and long-term impact.

Who We’re Looking For

We are particularly interested in professionals with approximately 8–15 years of relevant experience in one or more of the following areas

  • Child rights and child protection
  • Safeguarding
  • Human rights
  • International development
  • Education and child welfare
  • NGO/INGO or foundation programs
  • Policy, advocacy, or research related to children

Experience with respected NGOs, international organizations, foundations, academic institutions, or relevant private-sector organizations is welcome. Government or international organization experience is valued but is not required.

The ideal candidate will be approximately 35–45 years old, although selection will be based primarily on professional experience, expertise, judgment, and alignment with Guardian of Childhood's mission.

Commitment

Term 12 months

Engagement Advisory / part-time

Expected commitment Approximately 4 formal advisory meetings during the term, with occasional consultation when relevant.

Location Remote / International

This position does not involve day-to-day management of Guardian of Childhood. The Advisor provides independent professional guidance and does not automatically hold legal or governance authority over the organization.
