Consultant - Plastic Surgeon

- Clinical & Surgical Excellence: Perform a wide range of plastic, reconstructive, and cosmetic surgeries (e.g., trauma reconstruction, burn management, skin cancer excisions, microsurgery, and aesthetic enhancements like rhinoplasty, lipolysis/liposuction, and body contouring).
- Patient Consultations: Conduct thorough pre-operative evaluations, review medical histories, and discuss personalized, realistic treatment options, outlining both potential risks and clinical benefits.
- Post-Operative Care: Monitor patient recovery, manage wound care, handle suture removal, prescribe appropriate medications, and address any post-surgical complications.
- Emergency & On-Call Coverage: Participate in the department’s on-call rotation roster to handle acute trauma, facial fractures, soft tissue injuries, or urgent surgical interventions.
- Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Partner closely with anesthesiologists, general surgeons, dermatologists, oncologists, and nursing teams to deliver seamless, comprehensive patient care.
- Medical Records & Compliance: Maintain precise, timely, and confidential digital medical records of all surgical plans, patient interactions, and clinical outcomes.
- Surgical Precision: Exceptional manual dexterity, visuospatial awareness, and sharp hand-eye coordination for delicate microsurgical and reconstructive procedures.
- Clinical Leadership: Proven ability to command the operating theater, supervise junior residents or registrars, and make decisive calls under high-pressure scenarios.
- Communication & Bedside Manner: Strong interpersonal skills to navigate sensitive patient expectations, ease anxieties, and maintain strict patient confidentiality.
- Problem-Solving: Critical thinking to address unexpected intra-operative challenges or complex wound management scenarios.
- Educational Background: Medical Degree (MD/MS/MBBS) followed by a specialized higher degree in Plastic Surgery (e.g., MCh, DNB, FRCS in Plastic Surgery, or equivalent board certification).
- Licensure: Valid and current state or national medical council registration allowing independent surgical practice.
- Experience: Prior experience at a senior registrar or consultant level, with a documented surgical logbook highlighting core competencies in reconstructive or aesthetic specialties.
