Finance Business Partner — Supply Chain
Neve Jewels Group - India
Finance Business Partner — Supply Chain
Role Overview
The Supply Chain Finance Business Partner is the finance lens embedded inside the group's Supply Chain function — the single accountable finance person supporting the CSCO on the commercial, cost and margin implications of every material supply chain decision.
Neve is a jewellery group where supply chain is not a support function — it is the source of the group's largest single cost line, its largest single balance sheet asset (inventory), and its largest single lever on gross margin. The Supply Chain FBP owns the finance conversation on all of this: how much we source, from whom, at what commercial terms, held in what inventory position, financed how.
The role reports solid-line into the Head of Business Partnering — preserving the independence and standard-setting authority of finance — and dotted-line into the CSCO, ensuring day-to-day partnership, presence in supply chain forums, and immediate commercial support to supply chain leadership.
Key Responsibilities
Sourcing & ODM/OEM Commercial Finance
- Own the finance view on ODM and OEM commercial relationships — decode supplier-controlled multipliers, cost build-ups, and margin structures, and translate them into a commercial framework the CSCO can act on
- Support the CSCO on supplier negotiations — build cost models, benchmark analyses and margin waterfalls that inform position-taking
- Partner with the CSCO on supplier consolidation, sourcing strategy shifts, and any structural changes to the group's supply base
- Identify and quantify opportunities for margin recovery or margin protection across the sourcing portfolio
Inventory & Working Capital
- Own the finance view on inventory strategy — stock levels, location, aging, wastage, and the working-capital implications of each
- Partner with Supply Chain leadership on inventory optimisation programmes — right-sizing stock across brands, geographies and channels
- Provide the finance input to make-vs-buy decisions, safety-stock policy, and inventory financing arrangements
- Partner with the Treasury Manager on the cash-flow implications of inventory decisions
Cost & Margin Analytics
- Build and maintain the group's supply-chain cost and margin analytics — landed cost, gross margin per SKU, per brand, per channel, per geography
- Own the periodic cost review with the CSCO — where costs are moving, why, and what actions the business should take
- Support the annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting cycles for supply chain — sourcing costs, inventory positions, logistics, wastage
- Model the financial impact of proposed supply chain changes — new suppliers, new manufacturing routes, new logistics arrangements
Governance & Partnership
- Ensure supply chain numbers reported to the CSCO, to the CFO, and to the Board reconcile — one source of truth, defensible under scrutiny
- Partner with Brand FBPs on brand-level gross margin analysis and brand-specific supply chain conversations
- Partner with the VP Accounts & Finance on inventory accounting, provisioning and audit matters
- Partner with the Head of GSS on AP for supplier payments — ensuring supplier terms, payment discipline and cash discipline are aligned
- Represent finance in the CSCO's operating rhythm — Monthly Business Review, supplier reviews, inventory reviews, sourcing strategy sessions
Required Experience
- 3 to 5 years of progressive finance experience, with at least 2 years in a supply chain finance, sourcing finance, or commercial finance role
- Demonstrable experience in a physical-goods business — jewellery, luxury, apparel, consumer goods, retail, or comparable — where supply chain is a material driver of gross margin
- Prior experience partnering with a CSCO, VP Supply Chain or equivalent senior supply chain leader
- Track record of building and delivering supplier cost models, margin waterfalls, and sourcing-decision analytics
- Qualified accountant, MBA or equivalent finance qualification preferred
- Supply Chain P&L and Board reporting operational — defensible, reconciled, delivered on cadence
- CSCO reports meaningful finance partnership — presence in every material sourcing and inventory decision
- Standing forums (MBR, supplier reviews, sourcing strategy) attended by finance with substantive commercial input
Profile & Style
This is a commercial finance role, not an accounting role. We are looking for someone who thinks like a supplier negotiator with a finance discipline — someone who wants to decode supplier economics, quantify margin opportunities, and sit in the room when the CSCO is making decisions worth material margin.
They are comfortable in a jewellery supply chain, its metals exposure, its inventory intensity, its wastage risk. They are comfortable working in a scale-up finance function that is being built around them. And they are comfortable operating in the CSCO's forums as a substantive commercial contributor, not as a passive number-reporter.
Comfortable being challenged. Comfortable challenging back. Comfortable being the finance voice at the sharpest end of the group's commercial decisions.
