Roles & Responsibilities - IE Head

  • Develop and execute the Industrial Engineering strategy and roadmap aligned with business, customer, growth, and manufacturing objectives.
  • Own factory capacity planning, including equipment, manpower, floor space, utilities, and future expansion requirements.
  • Drive productivity and operational efficiency through cycle-time reduction, line balancing, bottleneck elimination, and optimized resource utilization.
  • Lead NPI industrialization and production ramp-up, ensuring manufacturing readiness from prototype/engineering builds through mass production.
  • Own manufacturing process and line design, including process flow, workstation design, takt time, UPH, staffing, and material flow.
  • Lead Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement programs using VSM, Kaizen, Six Sigma, SMED, Standard Work, and waste elimination.
  • Develop and execute the factory automation roadmap, identifying high-ROI opportunities across assembly, inspection, testing, material handling, and packaging.
  • Drive manufacturing cost optimization, covering labor cost, conversion cost, machine-hour cost, overhead reduction, and cost per unit.
  • Lead CapEx planning and investment justification for new equipment, automation, capacity expansion, and manufacturing technology.
  • Own factory layout and space optimization, including greenfield/brownfield planning, production lines, warehouses, logistics routes, and future expansion.
  • Establish and maintain standard time, labor standards, machine capacity, and productivity benchmarks across manufacturing operations.
  • Lead DFM/DFA/DFX and manufacturing feasibility reviews to ensure products are designed for scalable, cost-effective, and reliable manufacturing.
  • Drive Industry 4.0 and digital manufacturing initiatives, including MES, traceability, IoT, real-time dashboards, analytics, and smart-factory solutions.
  • Establish and govern key manufacturing KPIs such as UPH, OEE, line efficiency, labor productivity, capacity utilization, FPY, WIP, lead time, and cost/unit.
  • Support RFQ and business development activities by providing manufacturing concepts, capacity models, manpower estimates, equipment requirements, CapEx, and manufacturing cost inputs.
  • Lead product and production-line transfers between sites, ensuring capacity, process, equipment, quality, cost, and ramp-up readiness.
  • Partner with Operations, Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, NPI, Facilities, IT, Finance, and Commercial teams to achieve manufacturing and business targets.
  • Drive material-flow and internal logistics optimization, including supermarkets, Kanban, point-of-use delivery, WIP reduction, AGV/AMR, and warehouse-to-line flow.
  • Build and develop a high-performing Industrial Engineering organization through competency development, mentoring, succession planning, standard methodologies, and best-practice sharing.
  • Provide executive-level manufacturing leadership, identifying operational risks and opportunities while driving improvements in Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, Productivity, and Customer Satisfaction.
