Shopify Site Content Manager

The Shopify Site Content Manager is the hands-on operator of the MVMT Shopify storefront. Working in close partnership with the US Product & Site Merchant, this role turns approved commercial, product, promotional, and creative direction into accurate live-site experiences. The role owns execution quality, structured QA, documentation, and early escalation of issues; it does not independently set the business plan, product strategy, promotional architecture, or media strategy.
Responsibilities
Shopify Site Content & Experience
- Build, publish, and maintain Shopify home page content, landing pages, collection/category pages, product detail pages, promotional modules, global banners, mini-cart messaging, footer content, CTA indicators, and other customer-facing components.
- Manage Shopify navigation, menus, filters, search merchandising inputs, redirects, URLs, meta fields, and collection structures to support discoverability and a clean customer journey.
- Maintain content quality across desktop and mobile, including copy, imagery, video, product attributes, badges, links, sizing information, care information, and other product education.
- Coordinate with Creative and UI/UX partners on asset requirements, page layouts, creative briefs, and implementation details; flag missing, incorrect, or outdated assets quickly.
- Support accessibility, SEO, site speed, and content governance best practices, including descriptive alt text, logical heading structure, accurate metadata, and removal of broken or obsolete links.
- Create and configure new products and variants in Shopify using approved commercialization documents, product files, and inventory data; ensure all product data is complete and accurate.
- Enrich PDPs with product descriptions, specifications, attributes, imagery, videos, comparison points, product stories, family/occasion/functionality content, and applicable A+ or enhanced content.
- Merchandise new products and collections according to approved launch plans, inventory availability, product priorities, and customer experience requirements.
- Build and maintain launch pages and supporting content for new products, campaigns, and key commercial moments.
- Conduct structured pre-launch, launch-day, and post-launch QA across products, content, links, pricing display, promotions, inventory status, mobile/desktop experiences, and major browsers.
- Translate approved promotional plans into Shopify discounts, campaigns, messaging, banners, collection rules, and on-site experiences.
- Validate discount codes, automatic discounts, eligibility, exclusions, stacking rules, pricing, start/end times, and customer-facing terms before launch.
- Test the complete customer journey—from landing page through cart and checkout—and perform launch-day verification at scheduled launch and end times.
- Maintain promotion Terms & Conditions and communicate final site implementation details, open issues, and changes to the relevant teams.
- Support A/B tests and other conversion-rate optimization initiatives by implementing test variants, documenting test details, and reporting execution issues or observations.
- Maintain clear communication with the US Product & Site Merchant, India-based Media lead, and relevant corporate partners in Creative, IT, Product, Customer Service, Operations, and other centers of excellence regarding launches, promotions, assets, defects, and dependencies.
- Review campaign briefs and channel communications for site-message alignment; flag discrepancies in product, pricing, promotion, timing, or terms.
- Coordinate break/fix requests and development needs with Product Management or Technology, documenting the issue, business impact, priority, and resolution status.
- Respond to extended customer or internal inquiries involving site content, product information, promotions, or customer experience and coordinate solutions with the appropriate team.
- Maintain a recurring site audit covering PDPs, PLPs/collections, landing pages, navigation, links, metadata, creative assets, promotions, and merchandising rules.
- Track content requests, launch checklists, defects, approvals, and completed work in a transparent workflow that can be followed by US-based stakeholders.
- Monitor site issues and escalate material customer-impacting problems promptly, with screenshots, reproduction steps, and recommended next actions.
- Use Shopify analytics and available reporting to identify content defects, low-performing pages, search gaps, and opportunities for improvement.
- Help build and maintain templates, SOPs, workflow documents, creative handoff processes, launch checklists, and shared files for the extended support team.
- Support the audit and transition of existing PLPs/collections, enhanced content, meta fields, URLs, redirects, navigation, and legacy site content into Shopify.
- Document Shopify configuration, recurring tasks, known limitations, and recommended operating procedures so the team can execute consistently.
- Support the US Product & Site Merchant in coordinating selected third-party partners and corporate centers of excellence. Bring complete requirements, track action items, and confirm that agreed changes are implemented and tested; do not assume dedicated support capacity or wait for others to manage execution.
- Prepare updates, track action items, provide requested site information, and help confirm that agreed partner changes are implemented and tested.
- 4+ years of experience in e-commerce site content, Shopify administration, digital merchandising operations, or a related role.
- Hands-on Shopify experience, including products/variants, collections, navigation, content sections, discounts, metafields, redirects, and theme-based content management.
- Strong attention to detail and demonstrated ability to QA complex customer-facing experiences.
- Clear written and verbal English communication, strong organization, and comfort collaborating with US-based teams.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and make sound execution decisions with incomplete information.
- Highly organized, proactive and comfortable working across timezones.
- Working knowledge of HTML/CSS, SEO fundamentals, analytics, CRO testing, and image/asses specifications is a plus.
- Experience with consumer products, watches, fashion, accessories, beauty, or another brand-led category is a plus.
