HR Equity Talent Hiring Partners

Job Role: Sr. Manager / Manager – Vendor Finance (Supply Chain Finance)

Location: Kolkata

The company is a registered seller partner of Amazon and specializes in selling a diverse range of consumer products on the Amazon platform, leveraging a highly efficient inventory and logistics network. By combining cutting-edge technology, robust supply chain solutions, and tailored financial services, the company empowers partners across the retail value chain.

As the company rapidly expands its portfolio, it is looking for a sharp, strategic and hands-on financial leader to govern the financial agenda, drive on-ground execution, and lead management reporting for the Vendor Finance (Supply Chain Finance) vertical.

Role Overview

As the Vendor Finance Manager, you will own both the strategic and operational agenda for the Supply Chain Finance (SCF) business unit. This is a hybrid role: part financial governance and portfolio strategy, part hands-on program building — leading the team, managing vendor and dealer onboarding onto the bill discounting / fintech platform, and driving banking relationships to scale the program. You will partner directly with the founders and management team to set performance targets, track portfolio metrics, manage risk, and build the SCF program into a credible, scalable business line.

Key Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership & Program Ownership: Lead and manage the vendor finance team; take end-to-end ownership of the Supply Chain Finance program, including vendor invoice discounting run through the dealer network.
  • SCF Product Structuring: Structure and manage both recourse and non-recourse SCF products; define and evaluate the security/collateral requirements appropriate to each structure.
  • Fintech Platform & Vendor Onboarding: Drive the bill discounting / fintech dashboard platform — ensuring vendors and all stakeholders (banks, dealers, internal teams) are smoothly onboarded, invoices are efficiently discounted, and accurate MIS is available to every stakeholder in real time.
  • Financial Strategy & Agenda Setting: Partner closely with management and founders to define financial goals, establish growth targets, and outline profitability roadmaps for the vendor financing business unit.
  • Management Reporting & Insights: Own end-to-end MIS and financial reporting for the business unit. Deliver deep-dive analysis on portfolio performance, yield tracking, and margin leakages to enable data-driven decision-making.
  • Portfolio & Profitability Tracking: Closely monitor the financial health of the business unit and its SCF books. Ensure the vertical hits well-defined yield, Net Interest Margin (NIM), and profitability benchmarks.
  • Banking & Alliance Management: Build and pitch the program's credibility to banks, NBFCs, and channel partners; review, analyze, and optimize financial agreements and commercial terms to protect margins and improve cost of funds.
  • Scalability Planning: Continuously assess how far the SCF program can scale, identify constraints, and build the roadmap needed to bring greater scalability and drive strong year-on-year growth.
  • Sales Alignment & Governance: Review sales team deliveries against committed financial targets. Ensure the sales pipeline and delivery models align strictly with the financial and risk expectations of management and banking partners.
  • Fundraising Support: Actively collaborate with the Founder and core finance team to prepare financial models, projections, and data rooms required for fundraising and debt syndication relating to the business unit.
  • Tech-Driven Data Management: Leverage modern fintech tools, automation, and AI/data analytics to streamline financial reporting pipelines, enhance data accuracy, and provide predictive business insights.
  • Mentorship & Culture: Build and manage a capable team of financial analysts, fostering a culture of precision, strategic thinking, clear communication, and continuous professional development.

Desired Candidate Profile

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Education: Qualified CA (Chartered Accountant), CWA (Cost & Works Accountant), or MBA in Finance from a reputed institution.
  • Experience: 7 to 10 years of robust experience in Strategic Finance, FP&A, Corporate Treasury, or Management Reporting — exposure to the lending space will be an added advantage (e.g. Unsecured/Secured Loans, WCDL, or Supply Chain Finance).

Skills & Competencies:

  • Financial Acumen: Advanced skills in financial modelling, portfolio analytics, and evaluating corporate credit/lending structures.
  • Sharp Industry Insights: Deep understanding of fintech ecosystems, co-lending structures, data management, and risk frameworks.
  • Strategic & Flexible: A problem-solving mindset with the ability to pivot reporting frameworks quickly as business requirements scale.
  • Communication & Influence: Strong executive presence with the ability to present complex financial data clearly to founders, and to confidently pitch the program to banking partners to build credibility.
  • Operational Ownership: Comfort leading a team through hands-on, on-ground execution — vendor onboarding, platform adoption, and process discipline — not just strategic oversight.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Reporting Accuracy & TAT: Timeliness and precision of monthly MIS, budget vs. actual variance analysis, and performance dashboards.
  • Profitability Governance: Accuracy in predicting and maintaining Net Interest Margins (NIM) and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
  • Risk & Portfolio Health Monitoring: Early identification of portfolio stress or non-performing assets (NPAs) through predictive analytics.
  • Vendor & Stakeholder Onboarding: Growth in vendors and stakeholders successfully onboarded onto the fintech/bill discounting platform.
  • Program Scalability: Demonstrated progress in scaling the SCF program and driving year-on-year growth.
  • Banking Credibility & Fund Mobilization: Success in building banker confidence and securing/expanding funding lines for the program.
  • Data Automation: Successful implementation of automated financial reporting or data analytics tracking tools.
