Honeywell is seeking a highly motivated Software Engineer II to design, develop, test, and maintain scalable software solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Python and Java, experience with cloud technologies, and a passion for delivering high-quality software products that support Honeywell's digital transformation initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade applications using Python and Java.
- Build scalable APIs, microservices, and backend systems.
- Collaborate with product managers, architects, and cross-functional engineering teams to define and implement technical solutions.
- Participate in the complete software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, design, coding, testing, deployment, and support.
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following industry best practices.
- Develop automated unit, integration, and performance tests.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve production issues in a timely manner.
- Optimize application performance, scalability, and security.
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
- Participate in code reviews and mentor junior engineers when required.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics, or a related field.
- 3-6 years of software development experience.
- Strong programming skills in Python and Java.
- Experience with object-oriented design principles and software engineering best practices.
- Hands-on experience with RESTful APIs and microservices architecture.
- Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or SQL Server.
- Proficiency in Git-based source control systems.
- Experience with Linux/Unix environments.
- Knowledge of software testing frameworks and debugging tools.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Knowledge of containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience with messaging technologies such as Kafka or RabbitMQ.
- Understanding of DevOps practices and CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps.
- Exposure to Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
- Experience with data processing, analytics, or machine learning applications is a plus.
