Job Highlight
We are looking for an Intern with a background in agriculture sciences to support an ongoing project to support climate resilience and adaptation mainstreaming in Betul district, Madhya Pradesh. The internship offers hands-on and field-based experience in establishing block level climate resilience action plans. The intern will provide support in sectors like agriculture and allied sectors, rural development, and engage in stakeholder interactions with government, civil society and private sector actors. The intern will contribute to research, data collection, documentation, and coordination efforts that support’s WRI India’s research, knowledge management, and advisory activities.
In case the internship period involves developing an internship report in any form to be submitted to the parent institution, the candidates should have a research topic aligned with the primary area of engagement mentioned above.
What You Will Do
- Support in background literature review and desk research and secondary data collection
- Assist in collecting and documenting field-level qualitative and quantitative data for agriculture and allied sectors, water resources, livelihoods, natural resources, and rural infrastructure.
- Assist technical experts during field surveys, stakeholder consultations, and village-level assessments.
- Assist in organizing and documenting community consultations, focus group discussions, and meetings.
- Support literature review, secondary data collection, and policy research related to climate resilience and rural development.
- Compile, clean, and organize field data for analysis.
- Contribute to report writing, documentation, briefs, presentation materials for internal and external dissemination.
- Coordinate with project team members to ensure timely and high-quality completion of activities.
- Pursuing or recently completed a Master's degree in Agriculture related field
- Good understanding of agriculture and allied sectors and rural livelihoods.
- Strong written and communication skills in Hindi and English
- Willingness to travel extensively in rural areas.
- Basic skills in MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint and MS Teams. Familiarity with digital data collection tools will be an added advantage.
Stipend: INR 25000 per month
Duration: 3 months (extendable based on project requirements)
Start date: As soon as possible
