Guardian of Childhood is a youth-led nonprofit working to advance children's rights and create safer environments where every child can learn, grow, and thrive.

We develop educational resources, awareness campaigns, workshops, and community initiatives that promote child protection, digital safety, mental well-being, and positive participation. Our work is guided by the principles of dignity, inclusion, respect, and the best interests of every child.

We collaborate with students, educators, parents, youth volunteers, civil society organizations, and community partners to encourage informed action and strengthen child-centered communities. Through education and advocacy, we aim to help people understand children's rights and their shared responsibility in protecting them.

About The Role

Guardian of Childhood is looking for motivated, responsible, and passionate young people to join our Youth Leadership Team as Department Heads for a one-year term.

Department Heads will lead one of Guardian of Childhood's four core departments and work closely with the Founder, COO, and other members of the leadership team to develop and implement the organization's programs and initiatives.

Available Departments

Applicants may apply for one of the following departments

Guardian Academy

Focuses on education, courses, workshops, learning resources, and child rights literacy programs.

Guardian Simulation

Focuses on Guardian MUN, civic simulations, diplomacy activities, and other interactive learning experiences.

Guardian Media

Focuses on social media, campaigns, graphic content, video, storytelling, publications, and digital communications.

Guardian Network

Focuses on youth engagement, volunteer networks, outreach, partnerships, community building, and international connections.

Responsibilities of a Department Head

Lead and coordinate the assigned department
Develop ideas and initiatives for the department
Create basic plans and timelines for departmental activities
Coordinate with department volunteers and team members
Work closely with the COO and Founder
Participate in leadership meetings
Support cross-department projects
Ensure assigned tasks and projects are completed on time
Encourage and support other young volunteers
Provide regular updates on departmental activities
Represent the department within Guardian of Childhood when required

Requirements

Must be a teenager or young person
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Responsible and organized
Willing to take initiative and lead a small team
Able to commit to the full one-year term
Genuine interest in the work of Guardian of Childhood
Previous leadership experience is welcome but not required
Students and first-time youth leaders are encouraged to apply

This is a one-year volunteer appointment and does not constitute employment. Selected Department Heads are expected to maintain professional conduct, respect the organization's safeguarding principles, and fulfill their responsibilities throughout their term.
