Senior Systems Engineer - Akamai to CloudFront

We are looking for a Senior Systems Engineer to spearhead the migration of content delivery workloads from Akamai to Amazon CloudFront. In this position, you will architect and deploy scalable CDN solutions, set up security controls, and guarantee smooth traffic cutovers while sustaining strong performance and reliability across the migrated infrastructure.

Responsibilities

Carry out migration of content delivery workloads from Akamai to Amazon CloudFront, covering origin configurations, cache behaviors, and edge locations
Architect and deploy CloudFront distributions with suitable cache policies, origin request policies, and response headers
Set up AWS WAF rules, web ACLs, and managed rule groups to safeguard migrated workloads
Build and maintain Terraform modules for CloudFront, WAF, and supporting AWS resources
Conduct cache validation, latency testing, and traffic cutover verification throughout migration phases
Create runbooks, architecture diagrams, and operational handover documentation

Requirements

5-12 years of professional experience as a Systems Engineer
Expertise in Amazon CloudFront, covering distribution configuration, cache behaviors, and origins
Proficiency in AWS WAF, including web ACLs, managed rules, and custom rules
Familiarity with Akamai CDN for migration mapping purposes
Skills in Terraform for Infrastructure as Code on AWS resources
Background in Java and Python for scripting and automation
Proficiency in English at an Upper-Intermediate level (B2) or higher
