Product Manager
Volo Health Insurance TPA Pvt Ltd
Engineering | Full-time | Mumbai, Hybrid | Salary: Competitive
About the role
We're looking for a Tech Product Manager to own the CRM and core TPA (Third-Party Administrator) product lines end-to-end — from technical requirements through architecture trade-offs, launch, and adoption. You'll sit closer to engineering than a typical PM: reading schemas, understanding data models, and making build/scope calls directly with the engineering team, while also owning the roadmap that serves insurers, employers, hospitals, and members. You'll report to Head of Product / CTO.
Key Details
- Experience: 4-7 years in product management, with at least 2 years in a technical/platform PM role owning a CRM, claims, or operations-heavy B2B/B2B2C system
- Reporting To: Head of Product / CTO
- Open Positions: 1
Education
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or computer science strongly preferred, given the technical scope of this role; MBA a plus, not required
- No specific certification required — demonstrated technical product ownership matters more
What you'll do
- Own the product and technical roadmap for CRM (lead/case management, member and provider relationship workflows) and the core TPA platform (claims administration, cashless and reimbursement workflows, enrollment, provider-network servicing)
- Work directly with engineering on system design trade-offs — read and reason about data models/schemas, API contracts, and integration points, not just user stories
- Translate operational pain points from claims, ops, and support teams into clear technical requirements, specs (BRD/PRD-style), and acceptance criteria
- Define and track product KPIs (claims TAT, CRM case resolution time, adoption, data accuracy) using SQL/BI tooling directly rather than relying solely on analyst support
- Own the CRM and TPA platform's fit with regulatory and compliance requirements (IRDAI guidelines, data handling, audit trails) at the technical level — what needs to be logged, versioned, or access-controlled
- Run discovery with both internal stakeholders (ops, claims, compliance, engineering) and external stakeholders (insurers, TPAs, employers)
- Manage backlog, sprint planning inputs, and technical release communication to stakeholders
Good to Have
- Prior experience as a software engineer or in a technical role before moving into product
- Experience with claims administration or insurance operations workflows specifically
- Familiarity with MongoDB-backed or similarly document-oriented product data models
- Experience defining structured BRD/PRD-style specs for engineering handoff, ideally within an AI-assisted SDLC process
Preferred Domain Experience
- Experience in health insurance, insurance technology (insurtech), healthcare technology, fintech, or another regulated industry
- Prior exposure to Third-Party Administrator (TPA) operations — cashless/reimbursement claims, provider networks, or member enrollment — is a strong plus
- Experience working alongside compliance/regulatory teams in a regulated financial or healthcare business
What we're looking for
- Ownership mindset — comfortable being the single point of accountability for a product line's technical outcomes, not just its backlog
- Strong written communication — specs need to be precise enough for engineering and ops to both work from directly
- Bias for structured, data-driven decision-making
- Comfortable operating with ambiguity in a small, early-stage product/engineering function
