Job Summary
We are looking for an L1 Operations Engineer - Cisco ISE to monitor, troubleshoot, and support Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE) infrastructure and network access control operations. The candidate will be responsible for incident management, basic configuration support, authentication troubleshooting, monitoring, reporting, and coordination with network and security teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor Cisco ISE infrastructure for performance, availability, and security events.
- Respond to and troubleshoot Cisco ISE alerts and incidents.
- Troubleshoot authentication, authorization, and policy enforcement issues.
- Assist with Cisco ISE deployment, configuration, and policy implementation.
- Support network access control operations and user access-related issues.
- Assist users and IT teams with network authentication and connectivity problems.
- Support user provisioning and access troubleshooting.
- Generate reports related to ISE performance, utilization, and infrastructure health.
- Coordinate with Network, Security Operations, and System Administration teams.
- Maintain incident records and ensure timely resolution as per defined processes.
- Follow security policies and best practices for network access control.
- Stay updated on Cisco ISE technologies and relevant network security practices.
- 3+ years of experience in network/security operations with hands-on Cisco ISE exposure.
- Experience in Cisco ISE administration and troubleshooting.
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP.
- Good knowledge of AAA (Authentication, Authorization, and Accounting) concepts.
- Understanding of network access control and security principles.
- Good analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Cisco CCNA / CCNP Security certification.
- Basic knowledge of Python or PowerShell scripting.
- Experience working in enterprise network/security environments.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
