PURPOSE OF ROLE
The Manager – Sales Strategy, Analytics & Data will act as a strategic partner to senior sales stakeholders, driving data-led decision-making and operational efficiency. This role combines analytics, applied data science, and light data engineering to enable end-to-end ownership—from data sourcing and transformation to insight generation and business storytelling.
The individual will bridge the gap between data, technology, and strategy—leveraging Power BI, SQL, ETL ,Python & ML processes to build scalable data solutions, uncover opportunities, and drive impactful business outcomes.
- Support on tracking and monitoring of Sales Executive KPIs
- Analyse data that affect the productivity of Sales and provide deep dives to close gaps
- Understanding and reporting of KPIs such as Distribution, Sales Visits, Volume, Market Share, Shelf Share data, and marketing parameters.
- To know a Business Development Representative's basic roles and responsibilities and the steps in selling a product to end-consumers/customers based on a B2B/B2B2B/B2C perspective.
- Understand the end-to-end sales journey and stages involved in the delivery of ABI products from the manufacturing unit to wholesalers/distributors and retailers.
- Knowledge of sales organization/sales structure and their roles and responsibilities.
- High-level Knowledge of sales budgeting, trade investments, and revenue management (good to know)
- Recommend measures that can help in improving the sales process by looking at structured and unstructured data.
- Ability to think analytically by connecting dots across various functions of the Commercial team impacting the Sales Intelligence team (Category Management, Trade Marketing, and Demand Planning)
- Create actionable and value-driven insights and recommendations based on the data reported to the sales team to make strategies.
- Advanced Excel/Power BI/SQL/Python/ML expertise to create self-service dashboards to provide meaningful and actionable inputs to the Business.
- Strategic Business Partnering
- Collaborate with senior sales leaders to identify business challenges and translate them into analytical, data science, and data engineering problem statements
- Support strategic planning with predictive and prescriptive insights
- Advanced Analytics & Data Science
- Analyze large datasets to identify trends, opportunities, and risks across sales performance
- Apply data science techniques (regression, forecasting, clustering, segmentation) to solve business problems
- Develop predictive models for demand forecasting, performance optimization, and opportunity identification
- Data Engineering & ETL Development
- Design and build efficient ETL pipelines to ingest, clean, and transform data from multiple sources
- Develop and optimize data models to support scalable reporting and analytics
- Ensure data quality, consistency, and reliability across reporting layers
- Collaborate with data engineering teams where required to enhance data infrastructure
- Dashboarding & Visualization
- Design and develop intuitive Power BI dashboards for leadership consumption
- Integrate advanced analytics outputs into dashboards for real-time, decision-ready insights
- Data Storytelling & Communication
- Translate complex datasets and model outputs into clear, compelling business narratives
- Present insights, forecasts, and recommendations to senior stakeholders with strong executive presence
- Automation & Process Optimization
- Identify opportunities to automate recurring reports, pipelines, and workflows using SQL and BI tools
- Improve efficiency, scalability, and accuracy of reporting processes
- Experimentation & Continuous Improvement
- Support A/B testing and hypothesis-driven analysis to evaluate business initiatives
- Drive a culture of data-driven experimentation and continuous improvement
- Stakeholder Management
- Engage and influence cross-functional stakeholders across sales, operations, and leadership teams
- Act as a trusted advisor for data-driven and insight-led decision-making
