About the role:
The firm's portfolio management teams engage in a diverse set of investment strategies spanning all asset classes, products and geographies. The middle office team is an integral part of the firm with a strong emphasis on control, accuracy, and process integrity.
We are seeking to add an experienced individual to the operations department to work closely with the wider Middle Office group; traders & the portfolio management team in managing the full trade lifecycle.
Responsibilities:
- Be a key member of the global Operations team, providing day to day support to the PM & Execution desk teams.
- Perform daily Operations activities in support of the New York Operations team, working aligned to US market hours and collaborating closely with global stakeholders.
- Support all functions of the trade & position lifecycle across all products & markets.
- Ensure accurate and timely execution of key control processes including trade confirmation & clearing, settlement, prime broker/administrator reconciliation, and break resolution
- Identify opportunities to streamline existing processes and implement new ones with the goal of enhancing current operating model
- Assist in the generation of daily P&L for portfolio managers and the firm in aggregate.
- Expand upon knowledge of products and technology for personal development and growth within the Operations team.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline.
- Willingness and ability to work hours aligned with US market hours.
- Minimum of 7 years’ experience in a control function within financial services, preferably in hedge funds, investment banks, or asset management firms
- Understanding of a variety of Macro products – including FX & FX Options, Equity/CFDs, ETDs, Fixed Income & OTC derivatives
- Excellent attention to detail, a curious and analytical mindset, and a highly organized approach to work.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across global teams and multiple regions.
- Be detailed and organised, and able to adapt to fast paced environments
- Displays and operates at the highest degree of ethics and integrity.
The following would be highly beneficial:
- Knowledge of finance, markets, trade life cycle
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel; experience with Orchestrade, iRecs (Watson Wheatley), or similar reconciliation platforms is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of industry-wide middleware platforms including Traiana/Harmony; CTM; TRAX; TDN & MarkitWire.
