Roles And Responsibilities

  • Operational procurement of sheet metal components and fabricated parts essential for the manufacturing of Siemens' switchgear products.
  • Checking component BOM and arrranging & managing requiremnt as per assembling process and baseframe.
  • Primarily involves converting purchase requisitions into purchase orders, meticulously following up with suppliers to ensure time wise delivery, and expediting critical materials to meet production schedules. "
  • Purchase Order Management:
  • Review and convert approved purchase requisitions for sheet metal components into accurate purchase orders (POs) within the ERP system (e.g., SAP).
  • Ensure all PO details, including quantities, delivery dates, pricing, and terms, are correct and align with established agreements.
  • Transmit purchase orders to suppliers and obtain order confirmations.
  • Supplier Follow-up & Expediting:
  • Proactively monitor the status of open purchase orders for sheet metal parts.
  • Regularly communicate with suppliers via phone and email to confirm delivery dates, track shipments, and resolve potential delays.
  • Expedite critical orders as needed to prevent production line stoppages or delays, escalating issues to management when necessary.
  • Manage and update delivery schedules based on supplier communications and production requirements.
  • Material Availability & Coordination:
  • Collaborate closely with Production Planning, Logistics, and Warehouse teams to ensure the timely arrival and receipt of sheet metal materials.
  • Address and resolve discrepancies related to quantity, quality, or documentation upon material receipt.
  • Support inventory management efforts by ensuring accurate PO creation and delivery tracking.
  • Communication & Issue Resolution:
  • Act as a primary point of contact for suppliers regarding existing purchase orders and delivery status.
  • Communicate potential supply risks or delays to internal stakeholders (e.g., production, engineering, management) in a timely manner.
  • Assist in resolving invoicing discrepancies related to purchase orders.
  • Data Entry & Reporting:
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date purchasing records and supplier information in SAP
  • Generate reports on open orders, delivery performance, and potential material shortages as required.

Candidate Profile

  • Qualification: BE/Btech in Electrical /Mechanical
  • Experience: 4 - 5 years
  • Required Skills: Advanced proficiency in SAP MM module, import tracking, and MRP functionalities, and managing customs -specific data
  • SAP Expertise:
  • Advanced proficiency in SAP MM (Materials Management) module, particularly with Purchase Order creation, Goods Receipt, and MRP functionalities.
  • Experience with SAP master data management.
