The Security Design and Integration Manager will drive efforts in securing data centers across India and will be based out of Mumbai, or Hyderabad, working in a remote setup.
This role supports the delivery of physical security scope for AdaniConneX projects in the region, from early design through commissioning and turnover, and oversees compliance with EdgeConneX physical security standards across security design, integration, implementation, and programming. The role also supports the integration of EdgeConneX security and customer security efforts, ensuring compliance with all applicable standards. Successful execution requires strong navigation of local construction practices, regulatory authorities, and stakeholder dynamics, and the ability to build durable working relationships with sophisticated enterprise customers. This position is customer-facing and must uphold the ideals of EdgeConneX excellence.
Primary Responsibilities
- Support the delivery of physical security scope for AdaniConneX projects across from early design through commissioning and site turnover and oversee compliance with EdgeConneX physical security standards throughout.
- Serve as subject matter expert (SME) on EdgeConneX requirements and physical security standards, providing authoritative guidance to project teams, delivery partners, and stakeholders.
- Support the definition of project security requirements and acceptance criteria, ensuring alignment to EdgeConneX physical security standards and customer expectations.
- Support procurement and provide technical oversight of security designers, integrators, and programmers.
- Review security designs and submittals produced by integration partners for compliance with EdgeConneX physical security standards, including access control, video surveillance, intrusion detection, intercoms, and related field devices.
- Liaise with customer security teams and local construction teams to align AdaniConneX project delivery with EdgeConneX physical security standards and customer-specific requirements and acceptance criteria.
- Coordinate and liaise with both AdaniConneX stakeholders and customer subject matter experts (SMEs) to align on security requirements, resolve issues, and maintain a shared understanding throughout delivery.
- Oversight of physical security systems, including S2, Lenel, and Genetec systems.
- Validate installation and configuration quality through quality checks, site walks, and commissioning reviews; audit security contractors on quality, schedule, and compliance.
- Support closure of design gaps, defects, and punch items, including verification of corrective actions.
- Adapt EdgeConneX baseline standards to local conditions and to authorities holding jurisdiction in India.
- Maintain documentation quality, including design drawings, as-built records, test results, configuration records, and turnover packages.
- Provide estimating and budgeting inputs for physical security systems when requested.
- Collaborate with Security Operations on site turnover and operational acceptance.
- Participate in shaping Security Design and Integration global standards and processes, and improve standards, templates, and repeatable design patterns to reduce rework and improve consistency across the portfolio.
- Strong technical understanding of physical security systems and integration methods.
- Ability to evaluate designs quickly, identify gaps, and make practical decisions under delivery pressure.
- Strong vendor management sets expectations, enforces baseline requirements, and holds delivery partners accountable.
- Strong communications, both written and verbal, in leading teams and coordinating with peers and other disciplines on driving projects and issues to closure.
- Clear communicator who can translate technical requirements into simple, executable direction for integration partners and internal project teams.
- Customer-facing presence; able to represent EdgeConneX professionally with sophisticated enterprise customers and sustain alignment through extended ramp and onboarding cycles.
- Strong and effective team player working across various disciplines and peer groups; able to cover the full range of tasks required to get the job done.
- Superb ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and responsibilities simultaneously.
- Disciplined execution: tracking, documentation, follow-through, and closure.
- Comfortable operating across multiple sites and stakeholders in a multilingual Indian environment without losing attention to detail.
- Commitment to organizational excellence and constant awareness of opportunities to improve processes and quality of deliverables.
- Superb ability to work independently while adhering to standards.
- Ability to use computer systems related to security management and reporting.
- 3+ years of experience in physical security design, systems integration, or physical security program delivery.
- Minimum 2 of those years managing large-scale security design and installation projects.
- Experience supporting critical infrastructure environments; Data center experience strongly preferred.
- Experience delivering in India or the broader APAC region, including working knowledge of local construction practices and jurisdictional security requirements.
- Experience working with technical drawings and standard construction deliverables such as submittals, requests for information, and as-built documentation.
- A working knowledge or ability to learn: PCI/DSS, SOC 2, ISO 27001 certifications, as well as AutoCAD and associated drawing programs.
- Candidates with experience in S2, Lenel, ExacqVision and/or Genetec are highly encouraged to apply.
- Certified Protection Professional (CPP), Physical Security Professional (PSP), or equivalent certification preferred, or willingness to pursue.
- Fluent in English required; proficiency in Hindi or additional Indian regional languages a plus.
- Interest in cyber security.
- Travel - the candidate is expected to travel around 50% regional and global travel for this position, including travel on short notice.
