Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Automation Tester / QA Automation Engineer to join our banking technology team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in test automation, API testing, web application testing, database validation, and banking/financial services applications.
You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining automated test frameworks, executing functional and regression testing, identifying defects, and collaborating closely with developers, business analysts, and product teams to ensure high-quality software delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, execute, and maintain automated test scripts for banking applications.
- Create and maintain robust UI and API automation frameworks.
- Perform functional, regression, integration, system, and end-to-end testing.
- Analyze business and technical requirements and prepare test scenarios, test cases, and test data.
- Automate repetitive and critical test scenarios to improve test coverage and execution efficiency.
- Perform API testing using tools such as Postman, REST Assured, or similar.
- Validate backend data using SQL queries and database testing techniques.
- Identify, document, track, and manage defects using tools such as Jira, ALM, or equivalent.
- Execute automated test suites as part of CI/CD pipelines.
- Investigate test failures and perform root-cause analysis.
- Work closely with developers to troubleshoot and resolve defects.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, backlog refinement, and retrospectives.
- Support SIT, UAT, regression, and production validation activities.
- Prepare test execution reports, defect reports, and QA metrics.
- Ensure testing complies with banking quality, security, and regulatory requirements.
Mandatory Technical Skills
- Strong experience in Selenium WebDriver or equivalent automation tools.
- Strong programming experience in Java / Python / C#.
- Experience with automation frameworks such as:
- Selenium
- TestNG / JUnit
- Cucumber / BDD
- Maven / Gradle
- Strong knowledge of API testing and REST/SOAP services.
- Experience with Postman and/or REST Assured.
- Strong SQL skills and experience with database validation.
- Experience with Git/GitHub/GitLab/Bitbucket.
- Knowledge of Jenkins or other CI/CD tools.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
- Good understanding of SDLC and STLC.
Banking Domain Experience
Experience in one or more of the following banking domains will be highly preferred:
- Core Banking
- Payments
- Cards
- Internet/Mobile Banking
- Loans & Lending
- Retail / Corporate Banking
- Digital Banking
- Treasury
- Trade Finance
- Wealth Management
- AML / KYC
- SWIFT / ISO 20022
- Domestic and international payment systems
Knowledge of banking transaction flows, payment processing, reconciliation, settlement, and financial messaging will be an advantage.
Good to Have
- Experience with BDD and Cucumber.
- Experience building automation frameworks from scratch.
- Knowledge of microservices and distributed systems.
- Experience testing applications hosted on AWS/Azure/GCP.
- Knowledge of Docker/Kubernetes.
- Experience with performance testing tools such as JMeter.
- Knowledge of Kafka/event-driven architecture.
- Experience with SIT/UAT and production support validation.
- Knowledge of CI/CD and DevOps practices.
- Experience working with large-scale banking applications.

- Relevant QA/testing certifications such as ISTQB are an advantage.
