GeoSpatial Engineer MAP role focuses on securing and optimizing endpoint environments that support geospatial data platforms within a multinational organization. The engineer will design implement and operate advanced Microsoft Defender ATP and endpoint security solutions in a hybrid work model ensuring robust protection for sensitive spatial data and business critical systems while collaborating with cross functional teams in a day shift role.
Responsibilities
- Design comprehensive endpoint security architectures that safeguard geospatial platforms and data assets by applying deep expertise in Microsoft Defender ATP and aligned endpoint protection capabilities
- Implement robust endpoint security configurations across mapping workstations servers and field devices to ensure stable performance for geospatial applications and spatial data processing workflows
- Monitor endpoint environments proactively using Microsoft Defender ATP to identify anomalies malware and suspicious user activity that could compromise geospatial systems or sensitive location data
- Coordinate incident response activities for endpoint security events by investigating alerts triaging risks and applying remediation steps that minimize disruption to map production and spatial analysis operations
- Optimize Microsoft Defender ATP policies and rules by reviewing telemetry and security trends ensuring that protection levels remain strong while enabling efficient use of geospatial tools and software stacks
- Develop and maintain operational runbooks and standard operating procedures for endpoint security operations that clearly describe detection response and recovery steps tailored to geospatial engineering contexts
- Collaborate with infrastructure network and geospatial application teams to align endpoint security controls with system performance requirements licensing constraints and data governance standards across the organization
- Conduct periodic security posture assessments of endpoint fleets used for mapping analytics and data visualization and recommend enhancements that improve resilience against evolving cyber threats
- Provide guidance to project teams on secure deployment practices for new geospatial solutions including endpoint hardening secure configuration baselines and integration with Microsoft Defender ATP capabilities
- Perform root cause analysis for recurring endpoint security issues by reviewing historical events configuration changes and user behavior to define sustainable corrective actions for geospatial environments
- Create clear documentation and user facing guidance that explains secure usage of endpoints geospatial tools and data access mechanisms thereby supporting safer day to day operations for colleagues
- Coordinate with compliance and risk stakeholders to ensure endpoint security operations remain aligned with regulatory requirements privacy expectations and internal security policies related to spatial information
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives that refine endpoint monitoring automation reporting and threat detection so that geospatial engineering outcomes remain dependable and support broader organizational objectives
- Demonstrate strong hands on experience with Microsoft Defender ATP including configuration policy management threat analytics and investigation capabilities gained over at least five years in endpoint security roles
- Exhibit proven expertise in endpoint implementation covering deployment planning configuration baselines agent rollout and integration with existing infrastructure components in medium to large enterprise settings
- Show solid experience in endpoint operation through routine monitoring incident handling health checks and lifecycle management activities that maintain reliable secure environments for technical user communities
- Apply sound understanding of operating systems commonly used for geospatial workstations and servers alongside familiarity with geospatial data workflows so endpoint controls support mapping and analysis performance
- Utilize effective communication and collaboration skills to work with security operations infrastructure and geospatial engineering teams ensuring that endpoint security strategies are understood and executed consistently
