About The Role
We are looking for a Head of Risk / RMS to build and lead the risk function for a new-age digital brokerage. The role will own brokerage risk across Equity, F&O and Commodities, ensuring strong real-time controls while enabling seamless trading.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end RMS, margin, exposure and position-limit framework.
- Define leverage, exposure limits, margin requirements and auto square-off/liquidation rules.
- Monitor client positions, broker exposure, concentration risk and margin shortfalls in real time.
- Manage risk during market volatility, F&O expiry, physical settlement and exceptional market events.
- Partner with Technology/Product to build and automate RMS and real-time risk controls.
- Own risk-side UAT and sign-off for OMS/RMS changes and new trading products.
- Build surveillance frameworks for unusual/suspicious trading activity.
- Ensure compliance with SEBI, NSE, BSE, MCX and clearing corporation requirements.
- Lead risk incident management, root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Build and lead a lean Risk/RMS team with clear SOPs, escalation mechanisms and KPIs.
- 8–15 years of experience in RMS/Risk Management within a stockbroker, digital brokerage or capital-markets firm.
- Strong hands-on experience managing live brokerage RMS and trading risk.
- Strong understanding of Equity, F&O and preferably Commodity derivatives.
- Hands-on knowledge of margining, collateral, exposure, leverage, position limits, intraday RMS and square-offs.
- Experience with brokerage OMS/RMS platforms and real-time risk systems.
- Strong understanding of SEBI and exchange risk-management frameworks.
- Experience managing risk teams and handling live market incidents.
- Strong ability to work with Technology, Product, Operations and Compliance teams.
- Experience in a digital/discount brokerage or high-volume trading platform.
- RMS/OMS implementation or configuration experience.
- Exposure to NSE, BSE and MCX.
- Experience with F&O expiry and physical settlement risk.
- Understanding of API-based/algo trading controls and real-time risk engines.
