ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for an experienced Senior Postgraduate Admissions Consultant to guide applicants pursuing Master’s programs in the US, UK, Europe and other leading international destinations.

You will work one-on-one with young professionals, engineers and final-year undergraduate students. You will help them assess their profiles, select suitable programs, develop credible application narratives and submit strong, accurate applications.

The role requires sound admissions judgement, strong research and writing skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple applicants and deadlines simultaneously.

KEY RESULT AREAS

1.    Applicant Assessment and Strategy

• Assess each applicant’s academic record, projects, research, internships, work experience, test scores and career goals.

• Identify strengths, profile gaps and admissions risks.

• Build a personalised application strategy based on the applicant’s background, timeline and target programs.

• Recommend realistic steps to strengthen the profile before application deadlines.

2.    University and Program Selection

• Research universities, programs, specialisations, prerequisites, curriculum and career outcomes.

• Build balanced reach, target and likely program lists.

• Evaluate academic and professional fit rather than relying only on rankings.

• Explain the reasoning and admissions risk behind each recommendation.

• Ensure that applicants understand the differences between similarly named programs.

3.    Applicant Positioning

• Help applicants connect their academic background, work experience and long-term goals into a credible narrative.

• Identify the strongest positioning for technical, research-oriented or professionally focused programs.

• Recommend suitable projects, tests, certifications or experiences when additional evidence is required.

• Ensure that every claim made in the application is accurate and supportable.

4.    Statements of Purpose and Application Documents

• Guide applicants through statements of purpose, personal statements, résumés and supplemental essays.

• Help applicants develop clear academic, professional and career narratives.

• Provide detailed feedback on structure, specificity, evidence and program fit.

• Preserve the applicant’s authentic voice rather than writing application documents on their behalf.

• Check consistency across the SOP, résumé, recommendations and application form.

5.    Recommendations and Interview Preparation

• Advise applicants on selecting appropriate academic and professional recommenders.

• Help applicants provide useful supporting information to their recommenders without scripting recommendations.

• Prepare shortlisted applicants for university interviews through structured mock interviews and feedback.

• Help applicants communicate their goals, experience and program fit clearly and confidently.

6.    Application Planning and Execution

• Create individual application timelines covering testing, essays, recommendations, documents and submissions.

• Guide applicants through university-specific application portals.

• Review applications for accuracy, completeness and strategic consistency.

• Track each application from planning through submission.

• Ensure that applications are reviewed and ready before their deadlines.

7.    Applicant Communication and Progress Management

• Conduct regular one-on-one advising meetings and progress reviews.

• Explain recommendations, risks and next steps in clear, practical language.

• Set action items after every meeting and follow up when milestones are missed.

• Work effectively with applicants and, where relevant, their parents.

• Manage expectations professionally without guaranteeing admissions outcomes.

8.    Research and Admissions Knowledge

• Stay current on program requirements, prerequisite changes, standardised tests and international application processes.

• Understand the expectations of competitive MS programs across relevant academic disciplines.

• Track changes affecting international applicants and incorporate them into advising.

• Share useful admissions research and updates with the wider CollegePass team.

9.    Documentation and Collaboration

• Maintain complete meeting notes, applicant roadmaps, program lists, deadlines and next steps.

• Coordinate with editors, subject mentors and operations colleagues.

• Escalate deadline, engagement, quality or applicant-family concerns promptly.

• Maintain confidentiality when handling applicant and family information.

KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS

Performance will be assessed through:

• Quality and accuracy of applicant assessments

• Strength and balance of program lists

• Quality and authenticity of application positioning

• Timeliness and accuracy of submissions

• Quality of SOP, résumé and recommendation guidance

• Applicant milestone completion

• Responsiveness and documentation quality

• Applicant satisfaction and escalation management

• Admissions outcomes relative to each applicant’s starting profile

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

• Direct experience advising applicants on international Master’s admissions

• Strong understanding of US and/or UK postgraduate admissions

• Experience with program research, university selection and application strategy

• Experience reviewing SOPs, résumés, recommendations and application forms

• Strong written and spoken English

• Excellent research, organisation and attention to detail

• Ability to manage multiple applicants and overlapping deadlines

• Confidence working with engineers, professionals and final-year undergraduate students

• Ability to provide honest, evidence-based advice without overpromising outcomes

• Comfort using Google Workspace, online meeting platforms and applicant-management systems

Experience advising candidates applying to Computer Science, Data Science, AI, Engineering, Finance, Economics, Management, Public Policy or related programs would be valuable.

Candidates who have personally studied at or applied successfully to a leading international university may have useful perspective, but this does not replace direct advising experience.

WORKING ARRANGEMENT

• Working days are Tuesday–Saturday, from 11:00 AM–8:00 PM IST.

• Tuesday–Thursday and Saturday are work-from-home days.

• Friday requires working from the CollegePass Mumbai office.

• Applicants must currently live in Mumbai and within a practical commuting distance of the office.

• A reliable internet connection, suitable laptop and professional home-working setup are required.

COMPENSATION

• Fixed salary

• Performance-linked incentives, where applicable

• Final compensation will depend on relevant admissions experience and demonstrated expertise

APPLICATION PROCESS

Applicants must complete the application form linked through this job post. The form assesses direct advising experience, admissions knowledge, program-selection judgement and application-review ability.

Shortlisted candidates may be invited to:

• Discuss a previously handled application case

• Complete a live applicant-profile and program-selection exercise

• Review an SOP or application scenario

• Participate in a final interview with the CollegePass leadership team
