ROLE: SENIOR COLLEGE ADMISSIONS CONSULTANT – US UNDERGRADUATE
This is a student-advising and application-strategy role. It is not a sales, business-development or lead-conversion position.
WORKING ARRANGEMENT
• Working days: Tuesday–Saturday
• Working hours: 11:00 AM–8:00 PM IST
• Tuesday–Thursday and Saturday: Work from home
• Friday: Work from the CollegePass office in Mumbai
KEY RESULT AREAS
1. Student Assessment and Strategy
• Assess each student’s academics, curriculum, intended major, testing, activities and aspirations.
• Identify strengths, gaps and admissions risks.
• Create a personalised, realistic admissions roadmap.
• Set clear priorities based on the student’s grade and application timeline.
2. Profile Development
• Guide students on research, projects, competitions, internships, leadership and extracurricular development.
• Recommend activities aligned with the student’s genuine interests and intended major.
• Ensure plans are achievable, age-appropriate and sufficiently rigorous.
• Track progress and revise the roadmap when needed.
3. University Selection
• Research US universities, majors, testing policies, application rounds and requirements.
• Build balanced reach, target and likely university lists.
• Explain the reasoning and admissions risk behind each recommendation.
• Advise on Early Decision, Early Action and Regular Decision strategy.
4. Application Management
• Create timelines for testing, recommendations, activities, essays and submissions.
• Guide students through Common App and university-specific applications.
• Review application entries for accuracy, consistency and positioning.
• Ensure applications are ready before deadlines.
5. Essay Guidance
• Help students identify authentic personal and intellectual stories.
• Provide detailed feedback on personal statements and supplements.
• Improve clarity, specificity and structure while preserving the student’s voice.
• Never write application essays on behalf of students.
6. Student and Parent Management
• Conduct regular student meetings and parent reviews.
• Communicate recommendations, risks and next steps clearly.
• Set action items after every meeting and follow up on delays.
• Manage expectations without overpromising outcomes.
7. Documentation and Collaboration
• Maintain current roadmaps, meeting notes, university lists and trackers.
• Coordinate with essay specialists, tutors, mentors and operations teams.
• Escalate deadline, engagement or family concerns promptly.
• Maintain confidentiality and professional standards.
