We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Assistant Vice President - Process Excellence and Governance
In This Role, You Will
- Own the end-to-end process governance framework for supported products/markets, defining roles, decision rights, escalation paths, and governance cadence.
- Set and enforce global standards and documentation (operating procedures, process maps, control inventory, decision logs, action trackers) and keep artefacts current and audit-ready.
- Drive standardisation, simplification, and continuous improvement across regions, eliminating non-value-added work and improving customer/colleague outcomes.
- Design and strengthen operational controls by coordinating control reviews, monitoring control performance/Key Risk Indicators, and closing control gaps to reduce operational risk.
- Run governance forums and committees (agenda, papers, minutes, actions), contributing to risk/control and change/delivery governance to ensure process impacts and controls are addressed.
- Own issue/action and audit management: triage and prioritisation, clear ownership/dates, evidence standards, response coordination, and sustainable closure of findings.
- Lead incident governance and root cause analysis ensuring lessons learned, corrective/preventative actions, and “fix it properly” outcomes are embedded.
- Partner and report effectively with Operations/Product/Tech/Risk/Compliance/Transformation, providing decision-useful MI/dashboards and executive reporting while managing project risks, dependencies, and delivery.
- Experience: 4–5 years in banking (Payments/Account Solutions/Liquidity), operational excellence, project management, and/or business transformation.
- Global delivery: Proven track record leading complex, cross-functional projects in a global environment.
- Operational excellence: Demonstrated process improvement capability (Lean, Six Sigma, continuous improvement, root cause analysis).
- Project management: Strong planning and execution, risk and dependency management, stakeholder management, and benefits realisation; Agile/Waterfall/Hybrid experience a plus.
- Governance & controls: Solid understanding of process governance, operational risk, and control frameworks in a regulated financial services context.
- Governance execution: Experience running governance forums (agenda, quality control of papers, minutes/actions, decision logs, alignment).
- Assurance discipline: Knowledge of issue/action management, audit lifecycle, and evidence standards for sustainable closure; familiarity with process artefacts (process maps, control inventories, Standard Operating Procedures).
- Personal effectiveness: Strong analytics, communication and influencing; confident challenging constructively; high attention to detail, ownership, prioritisation, resilience, and team mindset (Project Management Professional /PRINCE2 and Lean Six Sigma Green Belt /Black Belt desirable).
