Supplier Qualification & Assessment
- Conduct supplier audits, technical evaluations, and risk assessments.
- Assess and approve supplier capabilities based on technical requirements (e.g., metallurgy, coating, welding).
- Mentor and guide suppliers in improving quality and process efficiency.
- Act as SME in specialized disciplines, providing expertise on processes and defect prevention.
- Lead root cause analyses (RCA), corrective actions, and failure investigations.
- Track supplier performance metrics (e.g., defect rates, on-time delivery).
- Develop and implement supplier quality control plans and inspections.
- Work with internal teams (engineering, procurement, manufacturing) to align supplier quality with company goals.
- Communicate technical requirements and quality expectations to suppliers.
- Ensure supplier compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain records of audits, certifications, and supplier quality performance.
- Provide in-depth expertise in disciplines like metallurgy, coatings, welding, materials, or NDT.
- Advise on process optimization, material properties, and quality improvements.
