Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Welding Supervisor to lead welding manufacturing operations, ensuring safety, quality, productivity, and timely delivery. The role will supervise shop-floor activities, manpower, welding processes, quality compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and supervise daily welding activities to meet production schedules and targets.
  • Allocate manpower, machines, fixtures, materials, and welding consumables.
  • Ensure compliance with approved WPS, PQR, welder qualifications, and applicable quality standards.
  • Supervise welding processes including GMAW/MIG, GTAW/TIG, SMAW, and FCAW.
  • Monitor weld quality, NDT/inspection activities, including RT film review, and reduce defects, rework, and scrap.
  • Support Root Cause Analysis and corrective actions for quality issues.
  • Ensure HSE compliance, PPE usage, toolbox talks, and safe welding practices.
  • Lead and develop welders, operators, and team leaders.
  • Drive 5S, Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing, and productivity improvement initiatives.
  • Monitor KPIs including Productivity, OEE, Utilization, Rework, and First Pass Yield.
  • Coordinate with Quality, Planning, Maintenance, and Supply Chain teams.
  • Ensure welding equipment, fixtures, and tools are maintained and available.
  • Prepare production reports and communicate performance and issues to management.

Skills

  • Strong knowledge of MIG, TIG, SMAW, and FCAW welding processes.
  • Knowledge of WPS, PQR, welder qualification, NDT, and RT film review.
  • Experience in welding quality, RCA, corrective actions, and defect reduction.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, and OEE.
  • Strong leadership, manpower planning, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Production, Welding Engineering, or related field.
  • 5+ years of welding manufacturing experience with supervisory responsibilities.
  • Experience in heavy engineering, fabrication, Oil & Gas, or industrial manufacturing is preferred.
