Technical Delivery Manager
Sigma Infosolutions Ltd.
Experience: 9–12 years
Employment Type: Full-time
About The Role
We are looking for a Technical Delivery Manager with a strong Engineering Management background to lead the delivery of complex enterprise software initiatives.
This is not a traditional project management role. The ideal candidate should have grown through software engineering and engineering leadership roles and possess sufficient technical depth to work effectively with architects, engineering teams, client technology teams, ERP teams, integration teams, DevOps, QA, and product/business stakeholders.
The role will primarily involve delivery of ERP-related solutions, custom enterprise applications, system integrations, APIs, workflow automation, data migration, and application modernization initiatives.
The Delivery Manager will be responsible for combining technical understanding, engineering leadership, delivery ownership, stakeholder management, and process improvement to ensure predictable and high-quality execution.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Delivery Ownership
- Own end-to-end delivery of complex enterprise software and integration initiatives across one or more engineering teams.
- Understand solution architecture, application design, integrations, APIs, data flows, databases, infrastructure, and deployment considerations sufficiently to drive meaningful technical discussions.
- Work closely with architects, engineering leads, ERP teams, and client technology teams to define and execute appropriate technical solutions.
- Review technical approaches, estimates, implementation plans, dependencies, and delivery assumptions and challenge them where necessary.
- Identify technical risks, integration dependencies, architectural constraints, data-related issues, and engineering bottlenecks early and drive them toward resolution.
- Ensure appropriate engineering practices are followed across design, development, code review, testing, deployment, and production support.
- Manage initiatives involving ERP platforms, custom enterprise applications, third-party systems, and surrounding integrations.
- Coordinate integrations across ERP, CRM, finance, HR, operations, workflow, reporting, and other enterprise platforms.
- Drive API-based, event-driven, batch, file-based, and other enterprise integration patterns where applicable.
- Understand data mapping, transformation, validation, migration, reconciliation, and synchronization requirements across systems.
- Coordinate with client application owners and technical teams to manage system interfaces, integration dependencies, environments, and release schedules.
- Ensure non-functional requirements such as scalability, security, performance, reliability, and maintainability are adequately addressed.
- Support modernization initiatives involving legacy systems, custom applications, integration layers, and cloud platforms.
- Act as a key delivery interface between internal engineering teams and client-side technology teams.
- Collaborate with client architects, engineering managers, ERP/application owners, infrastructure teams, security teams, data teams, product owners, and business stakeholders.
- Facilitate discussions around architecture, integrations, technical dependencies, environments, releases, data migration, and production readiness.
- Communicate delivery status, risks, dependencies, technical trade-offs, and challenges clearly to both technical and business stakeholders.
- Build confidence with client teams through strong ownership, responsiveness, transparency, and technical understanding.
- Manage expectations proactively and ensure that changes affecting scope, dependencies, timelines, or commitments are surfaced early.
- Lead and mentor engineering teams while working closely with Engineering Managers, Technical Leads, Architects, QA, DevOps, and Product/Business Analysis teams.
- Provide guidance on technical problem-solving, delivery planning, prioritization, and execution.
- Ensure clear ownership and accountability across engineering workstreams.
- Help teams break complex enterprise initiatives into manageable technical deliverables and milestones.
- Support engineering teams in resolving technical blockers and cross-team dependencies.
- Ensure appropriate collaboration across application, integration, database, QA, DevOps, and infrastructure teams.
- Foster a culture of engineering quality, ownership, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Drive predictable delivery across scope, timelines, quality, technical outcomes, and client expectations.
- Establish and maintain delivery plans, milestones, release plans, dependency maps, and implementation schedules.
- Drive Agile delivery practices including backlog readiness, estimation, sprint planning, reviews, retrospectives, and release planning.
- Monitor delivery health using meaningful engineering and delivery metrics rather than relying only on task/activity tracking.
- Ensure risks, issues, dependencies, decisions, and action items are clearly documented, owned, and followed through to closure.
- Coordinate delivery across multiple teams, applications, vendors, and client stakeholders where required.
- Ensure releases and production deployments are adequately planned and supported across engineering, QA, DevOps, infrastructure, and client teams.
- Assess existing engineering and delivery processes and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Establish lightweight but effective processes for requirements readiness, solution design, estimation, development, QA, release management, change management, and production support.
- Improve delivery predictability by strengthening planning, estimation, dependency management, risk management, and engineering governance.
- Introduce appropriate mechanisms for tracking technical dependencies and cross-system impacts.
- Drive structured root-cause analysis for delivery, integration, or production issues and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
- Establish appropriate delivery reviews, engineering reviews, metrics, and escalation mechanisms.
- Continuously streamline processes while avoiding unnecessary bureaucracy for engineering teams.
- Promote automation and AI-assisted engineering practices where they can improve productivity, quality, testing, documentation, or delivery speed.
- 9+ years of experience in software engineering and technology delivery, including 2–3+ years in Engineering Management, Technical Leadership, or Technical Delivery roles.
- Strong software engineering foundation with prior hands-on development experience.
- Experience delivering custom enterprise software, ERP-related solutions, system integrations, or application modernization initiatives.
- Ability to understand and discuss software architecture and technical design with senior engineers and architects.
- Strong understanding of APIs, integrations, microservices, distributed systems, and enterprise application architectures.
- Experience integrating multiple enterprise applications or platforms.
- Good understanding of relational and NoSQL databases, data models, and data integration concepts.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Good understanding of Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, DevOps, and modern software delivery practices.
- Understanding of data migration, transformation, reconciliation, and system integration challenges.
- Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle, Agile methodologies, release management, and production support.
- Experience managing technical dependencies across multiple teams, applications, and systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify issues early and drive them to closure.
- Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills, particularly when working with client technology teams.
- Ability to translate technical challenges into clear delivery and business implications.
- Experience improving engineering and delivery processes.
- Exposure to AI-augmented development, testing, and engineering productivity practices.
- Experience working with ERP platforms or ERP ecosystems such as Microsoft Dynamics, SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or similar enterprise platforms.
- Experience with CRM, workflow, finance, operations, supply chain, field-service, or other enterprise applications.
- Experience delivering integration-heavy programs involving multiple internal and third-party systems.
- Experience with API management, middleware, integration platforms, or iPaaS solutions.
- Exposure to enterprise data migration and legacy application modernization.
- Experience managing distributed or offshore/onshore engineering teams.
- Experience delivering SaaS and enterprise web applications.
- Exposure to AI/ML applications or AI-enabled enterprise workflows.
- Experience working in services, consulting, or client-facing engineering environments.
- Consistently delivering complex enterprise technology initiatives with predictable timelines and high quality.
