Job Description

Senior Seismic SME with Hands-On Data Integration Experience (Individual Contributor)

Summary

We are seeking a Senior Seismic Subject Matter Expert to join as an individual contributor with deep, hands-on technical expertise in Seismic administration and data integration. It is a senior technical/functional specialist position for someone who wants to remain deeply embedded in the platform architecture, integration code, and complex problem-solving rather than moving into management. The ideal candidate has 6+ years of experience with sales enablement platforms and brings both strategic platform ownership and the technical depth to personally design, build, and debug integrations without relying on other engineers. This person will operate with a high degree of autonomy, acting as the go-to technical authority for Seismic across the enterprise while partnering closely with sales enablement, marketing operations, IT, and CRM teams.

Key Responsibilities

As the senior IC owner of the Seismic platform, this person will independently architect and maintain the full integration ecosystem connecting Seismic to CRM systems (Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics), data warehouses, and adjacent enablement tools, taking ownership from requirements gathering through technical design, build, testing, and production deployment. They will write, review, and maintain production-grade integration code (Python, JavaScript, or similar), including API connectors, webhook handlers, and automated data pipelines, and will be expected to solve the hardest technical problems on the team personally rather than delegating them.

This role carries responsibility for the technical roadmap of the Seismic platform, including evaluating new Seismic features and capabilities (LiveDocs, Seismic Meeting Intelligence, AI-driven content tools) and making build-vs-buy and architecture recommendations to leadership. The senior SME will lead complex, cross-functional integration projects end-to-end — such as CRM migrations, new data source onboarding, or platform version upgrades — serving as the primary technical decision-maker while coordinating with stakeholders in IT, security, and compliance.

The person in this role will also serve as the final escalation point for platform and integration issues that other teams cannot resolve, conducting deep root-cause analysis on data sync failures, performance degradation, and API errors. They are expected to proactively identify technical debt, integration fragility, or scalability risks in the current architecture and bring forward solutions before they become critical issues. Mentoring less senior team members and reviewing their integration code or configurations may be expected, even though this is an IC role without formal direct reports. Finally, this person will own comprehensive technical documentation of the integration architecture, data flows, and disaster recovery procedures, ensuring institutional knowledge doesn't sit with a single individual.

Required Skills

  • 6+ years of hands-on experience administering, configuring, and architecting Seismic implementations at an enterprise scale, including content management, workspaces, LiveDocs, permissions/governance, and analytics/reporting modules
  • 4+ years of demonstrated experience independently designing and building complex API-based integrations (REST/SOAP, webhooks) between Seismic and enterprise Snowflake data platforms CRM, with the ability to own the full integration lifecycle without support from other engineers
  • Expert-level troubleshooting and debugging skills across the full integration stack — reading and interpreting logs, debugging API calls, diagnosing data sync/latency issues, and performing root-cause analysis under time pressure
  • Deep knowledge of authentication and security protocols (OAuth 2.0, SAML/SSO) and experience managing API rate limits, token refresh logic, and secure credential handling
  • Proven track record of leading technical projects independently from requirements through production deployment, including stakeholder management, without formal authority over other team members
  • Excellent technical writing and documentation skills, capable of producing architecture diagrams, runbooks, and specifications usable by both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Demonstrated ability to operate autonomously, making sound technical judgment calls and escalating strategically rather than reflexively

Preferred Skills

Seismic certification(s) at an advanced level (e.g., Seismic Certified Administrator, Seismic Certified Developer if available)

  • Experience in a regulated industry (financial services, insurance, healthcare) with associated compliance, recordkeeping, and content governance requirements
  • Experience with data warehousing and BI tooling (Snowflake, Tableau, Power BI) to build custom reporting layers on top of Seismic usage and engagement data
  • Experience leading large-scale platform migrations, replatforming efforts, or M&A-driven system consolidations
  • Prior experience in sales enablement, marketing operations, or revenue operations, providing business context that informs better technical decisions
  • Experience acting as an informal technical mentor or "tech lead" on a team without formal management responsibility
