We’re looking for a Tech Lead to own the architecture and engineering direction of the product platform while leading the team that builds and maintains it. This role combines deep technical ownership — architecture, code quality, system design — with people leadership and client-facing technical communication, as we strengthen our in-house engineering capability.
Responsibilities
- Own the technical architecture of the product LMS platform (Moodle-based and custom)
- Design and evolve backend services using Node.js, PHP, or Python, and frontend using React.js
- Define and evolve microservices and REST API architecture
- Own Azure infrastructure design and management
- Design and maintain database architecture (MySQL/PostgreSQL)
- Implement and maintain SSO and authentication standards (OAuth 2.0, SAML, JWT)
- Lead integrations with a wide range of third-party and enterprise systems (LTI tools, CRM, payment gateways, analytics platforms, and other partner systems)
- Own CI/CD pipelines and containerization for the platform
- Drive system design decisions for scalability and reliability
- Lead code reviews and set engineering standards across the team
- Own technical documentation and manage vendor handover processes
- Serve as the primary technical point of contact for client-facing discussions, translating business and partner requirements into technical solutions
- Manage, mentor, and grow a team of engineers, including performance and career development
- Own cost and vendor-spend decisions for the platform, evaluating build-vs-buy trade-offs to reduce reliance on paid third-party tools
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field; equivalent practical experience is welcome.
