Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced QC Supervisor to oversee quality control activities at our manufacturing facility. The role is responsible for managing QC personnel, planning inspections, ensuring product conformity, maintaining the Quality Management System (QMS), and coordinating internal, external, and customer audits. The position requires strong technical expertise, team leadership, and a focus on safety, compliance, and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Supervise QC Inspectors and Technicians, including inspection planning, task allocation, and performance management.
- Oversee incoming, in-process, and final product inspections, ensuring accurate documentation and product release compliance.
- Ensure compliance with QMS requirements, API Spec Q1 (10th Edition), applicable standards, customer specifications, and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor special processes, including process validation, competency requirements, and validation records.
- Ensure product conformity for premium threaded connections such as VAM and Tenaris, as well as Copper Brush Plating.
- Manage calibration of plant equipment, testing instruments, gauges, and measuring equipment.
- Coordinate third-party inspections, internal audits, external audits, and customer audits.
- Ensure NDT personnel certifications and recertifications comply with company requirements.
- Identify non-conformances, investigate quality issues, perform troubleshooting, and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
- Maintain inspection records and ensure timely submission of customer-required quality data.
- Drive continuous improvement in inspection methods, quality, efficiency, and service delivery.
- Promote HSE compliance, stop-work authority, and a strong quality and safety culture.
- Coordinate with Production, Supply Chain, Order Management, QA, HSE, and other stakeholders.
- Strong knowledge of quality control, inspection processes, and manufacturing quality standards.
- Proficiency in measuring instruments, gauges, calibration, and inspection techniques.
- Experience with machined component inspection against engineering drawings.
- Knowledge of special-process validation, NDT requirements, and product release documentation.
- Understanding of QMS, API Spec Q1, and applicable quality standards.
- Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement skills.
- Team leadership, communication, and stakeholder management.
- Basic proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Diploma in Metallurgy/Mechanical Engineering: 8–12 years of relevant experience; or
- B.E. in Metallurgy/Mechanical Engineering: 6–8 years of relevant experience.
- Considerable experience in Quality Control and Quality Assurance, including supervisory responsibilities.
- Preferred: ASNT Level II certification in MT, LT, VT, and RT; QMS/ISO 9001 internal auditor certification; Oil & Gas industry experience.
- Good to have: CSWIP 3.1 Welding Inspector certification and NDT Level II in RT Film Interpretation (RTFI) as per ISO 9712.
- Travel: Less than 10%, including domestic and potentially international travel.
