Job Description - Database Administrator

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated professional to manage and optimize enterprise database environments, cloud infrastructure, and automation solutions. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in database administration, performance tuning, Linux systems, Python development, AWS cloud services, and modern AI tools to support business-critical applications and infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

Database Administration :

Manage, monitor, and maintain Oracle, PostgreSQL, or other enterprise databases.

Perform database installation, configuration, upgrades, patching, and migrations.

Implement backup, recovery, high availability (HA), and disaster recovery (DR) solutions.

Monitor database health, capacity planning, and storage utilization.

Database Archiving, purging and data masking.

Ensure database security, user management, and compliance standards.

Performance Tuning

Analyze and optimize database performance using AWR, ASH, Explain Plans, Query Optimization, and indexing strategies.

Investigate and resolve slow-running SQL queries and application bottlenecks.

Perform proactive performance monitoring and system health assessments.

Linux Administration

Administer Linux servers (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu, Amazon Linux).

Perform server installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and patch management.

Manage file systems, process monitoring, networking, security hardening, and user administration.

Develop shell scripts for automation and operational efficiency.

Python Programming & Automation

Develop Python scripts and utilities for database automation, monitoring, and reporting.

Build automation workflows for infrastructure provisioning and maintenance tasks.

Integrate APIs and cloud services using Python.

Support DevOps and Infrastructure-as-Code initiatives.

AWS Infrastructure

Deploy, and manage AWS-based infrastructure.

Administer services including EC2, RDS, S3, VPC, IAM, CloudWatch, Lambda, ECS/EKS, and Route53.

Implement security best practices, monitoring, backup, and disaster recovery strategies.

AI Tools & Modern Technologies

Utilize AI-powered tools such as Microsoft Copilot, Claude, GitHub Copilot, Amazon Q, and AI-based monitoring platforms.

Develop AI-assisted automation and operational workflows.

Leverage AI tools for troubleshooting, documentation, coding assistance, and productivity enhancement.

Evaluate emerging AI technologies to improve operational efficiency.

Collaboration & Support

Work closely with application teams, developers, architects, and business stakeholders.

Provide L2/L3 support for production environments.

Create technical documentation, SOPs, and knowledge base articles.

Participate in on-call support and incident management processes.

Experience

2 to 4 years of experience in Database Administration and Infrastructure Management.

Experience supporting large-scale enterprise production environments.
