Software Engineer - React Native

About the role:

You will own the mobile AI inference stack end-to-end, from the moment a user sends a message, through Dhruva's negotiation with financial institutions, to final resolution. This includes the real-time chat interface, a transport-agnostic messaging layer (WebSocket, HTTP polling, and future push notifications), and the offline-first local data architecture that keeps the experience reliable at scale.

Key responsibilities:

• Build and maintain the chat interface per established architecture and design specifications
• Design a transport-agnostic real-time communication layer
• Architect the offline-first local data layer, including sync strategy, conflict resolution, and schema migrations
• Develop rendering infrastructure for AI-native features: streaming responses, polymorphic message types, and inline actionable widgets
• Handle mobile-specific edge cases: app backgrounding, token refresh, network degradation, and error recovery
• Write well-tested, maintainable code as product capabilities scale

Required qualifications:

• 3+ years of React Native experience, with production applications shipped to both app stores
• Strong WebSocket integration experience, including connection lifecycle, reconnection strategies, and event-driven message handling
• Experience with local data persistence (SQLite or WatermelonDB), including schema migrations and offline-first design
• Proficiency in TypeScript, with the ability to define strict types from backend API contracts
• Android performance optimization experience: FlatList tuning, memory profiling, and familiarity with the Hermes engine
• Experience with state management (Redux or equivalent) for concurrent asynchronous state
• Experience building polymorphic UI components from a single data stream
