Role Overview
This role converts regional and global demand forecasts into executable material plans, production orders, and delivery schedules. It works closely with sales & operations planning, sourcing, and supply chain teams to prioritize requirements, manage SAP exceptions, and optimize inventory. The position uses SAP, MRP, analytical tools, and material management controls to maintain reliable supply and improve planning performance.
Partner with Us:
- Collaborate with regional sales and operations teams to develop regional and global forecasts and convert approved demand plans into physical orders and material requirements.
- Plan and schedule materials, production orders, and order timelines in line with customer requirements, manufacturing capacity, and delivery commitments.
- Work with S&OP, manufacturing production team, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality and supply chain teams to fulfill customer demand and requirements.
- Analyze incoming demand, identify order exceptions, planning gaps, and address misalignment with product rationalization and inventory strategies.
- Use SAP and MRP functionality to maintain accurate planning parameters, material requirements, order dates, supply signals, and planning transactions.
- Perform material management analysis, including statistical consumption and forecasts, aged inventory, aged purchase orders, in-transit materials, shortages, and safety-stock requirements.
- Implement inventory stocking strategies and monitor safety stock, global inventory, excess and obsolete inventory, and aging exposure.
- Identify opportunities to use existing inventory, reduce shortages and excess stock, control inventory level and logistics shipping costs.
- Support order management from demand receipt through material availability, production scheduling, shipment readiness, and customer delivery.
- Track planning KPIs, supply risks, shortages, and recovery actions, and communicate priorities and exceptions to relevant stakeholders.
- Identify and implement improvements in planning processes, master data, inventory controls, reporting, and cross functional operating routines.
To be successful in this role you will:
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Operations, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5+ years of relevant experience in material planning, production planning and scheduling, supply chain, or manufacturing operations.
- Demonstrated experience in S&OP, demand planning, order management, inventory optimization and control, and material management.
- Strong practical experience with SAP and MRP functionality, including planning parameters, material requirements, purchase and production orders, and supply / demand exception management.
- Experience performing material consumption analysis, forecasting, safety-stock calculations, and aged, excess, obsolete, and in-transit inventory reviews.
- Working knowledge of Sales and Operations Planning, product life-cycle management, product rationalization, and new product or obsolescence transitions.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify planning gaps and implement sustainable improvements.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to coordinate effectively with supply chain functions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Power BI, reporting tools, and data analysis for planning, inventory, and performance management.
- Certified in Planning and Inventory Management (CPIM) or an equivalent supply chain certification is preferred.
