About The Role

We are looking for an experienced and highly motivated Business Development Manager to drive business growth for our pharmaceutical formulation development and analytical R&D services. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of pharmaceutical product development, CRO/CDMO services, and the generic pharmaceutical industry. The role involves identifying new business opportunities, developing strategic customer relationships, and achieving revenue targets across domestic and international markets.

Key Responsibilities

Business Development

  • Identify and generate new business opportunities for formulation development, analytical development, reverse engineering, and regulatory support services.
  • Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve quarterly and annual revenue targets.
  • Build and maintain relationships with pharmaceutical companies, biotech firms, and virtual pharmaceutical organizations.
  • Generate leads through networking, conferences, digital platforms, and customer referrals.
  • Prepare technical and commercial proposals in collaboration with scientific teams.
  • Conduct customer presentations and technical discussions to understand project requirements.

Customer Relationship Management

  • Develop long-term relationships with key decision-makers, including R&D Heads, Procurement Heads, Business Development teams, and Technical Directors.
  • Manage the complete sales cycle from lead generation to contract signing.
  • Ensure high customer satisfaction and identify opportunities for repeat business.
  • Coordinate customer visits, technical meetings, and project kick-off discussions.

Market Intelligence

  • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and emerging technologies.
  • Identify new therapeutic areas and market opportunities.
  • Maintain a database of target customers across India and global markets.
  • Participate in industry conferences, exhibitions, and business networking events.

Internal Coordination

  • Work closely with formulation scientists, analytical scientists, regulatory teams, and project management to develop competitive proposals.
  • Coordinate project costing, timelines, and resource planning.
  • Support contract negotiations and commercial discussions.
  • Ensure smooth handover of projects after business closure.

Required Skills

  • Strong understanding of pharmaceutical formulation development, analytical development, and generic product development.
  • Knowledge of CRO/CDMO business models.
  • Familiarity with ANDA, EU, ROW, and regulated market development is desirable.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to understand customer technical requirements.
  • Ability to independently manage multiple customer accounts.
  • Willingness to travel extensively within India and internationally.

  • Pharmaceutical formulation development companies
