Role Overview

  • The Electrical Maintenance Engineer is accountable for installation, commissioning, and life‑cycle support of electromechanical and PLC‑controlled equipment in a high‑tech manufacturing environment.
  • Must be well aware of the work routine carried out in a manufacturing plant and the maintenance practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, schedule, and execute preventive and corrective maintenance tasks, ensuring compliance with PM and schedule adherence KPIs.
  • Lead shift teams, allocate resources, and motivate associates to meet uptime targets.
  • Diagnose and resolve PLC faults (Siemens, GE Fanuc), SCADA, CNC and related control systems using troubleshooting, root‑cause (“why‑why”) analysis and scripting tools.
  • Perform upgrades, configuration changes, and patch deployments for machine control software and firmware.
  • Conduct 5S and World Class Manufacturing (WCM) activities to improve workplace organization and safety.
  • Manage obsolescence, procure and install replacement machine elements, and coordinate with OEM/distributor support.
  • Track and report maintenance KPIs such as asset utilization, maintenance cost, PM compliance, and mean‑time‑to‑repair (MTTR).
  • Provide on‑site technical support to clinical staff, delivering training and documentation for equipment operation and maintenance.
  • Escalate critical issues according to governance and risk procedures, and coordinate disaster‑recovery actions when required.
  • Ensure all maintenance personnel are adequately trained, equipped, and follow safety standards.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 4‑8 years of hands‑on electrical maintenance experience in a manufacturing or medical‑device setting.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot and repair complex electromechanical systems, including PLCs (Siemens, GE Fanuc) and SCADA.
  • Strong knowledge of 5S, WCM, and preventive maintenance methodologies.
  • Experience with CNC machine programming, configuration, and upkeep.
  • Excellent analytical, root‑cause analysis, and documentation skills; ability to produce clear issue reports and resolution logs.
  • Ability to manage shift schedules, lead small teams, and communicate effectively with cross‑functional stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Diploma or BE in electrical/electronics
  • Certification in PLC programming or industrial automation (Siemens S7, GE-FANUC).

Working Conditions

  • On‑site role covering multiple shifts; occasional travel to other plant locations
  • Must adhere to safety and regulatory standards while handling high‑voltage equipment.
