Engineer, PCB Design

Svaya Robotics

About The Role

As a PCB Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality PCBs for Svaya’s robotic systems and electronic platforms. You will work across analog, digital, power, and high-speed circuits, taking designs from schematic development through PCB layout, manufacturing, testing, and documentation.

You will collaborate closely with Electrical, Embedded, Firmware, teams to develop reliable and production-ready PCB designs. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience in PCB design, a solid understanding of signal and power integrity, PCB manufacturing processes, and the ability to troubleshoot design and manufacturing challenges.

Your Work

  • Design and develop analog, digital, and power electronics circuits for robotic and industrial applications.
  • Create and review schematics, PCB layouts, component footprints, libraries, BOMs, Gerber files, and manufacturing documentation.
  • Perform complete PCB design activities from schematic capture through layout, design verification, manufacturing release, and design revisions.
  • Design multilayer PCBs, including 6–12 layer boards, considering stack-up, signal integrity, power integrity, EMI/EMC, and manufacturability.
  • Perform high-speed PCB routing, including differential pairs, impedance-controlled traces, length matching, and high-speed bus routing.
  • Design and review power supply circuits and PCB layouts, including DC-DC converters and associated power distribution networks.
  • Create and export STEP files from ECAD to MCAD and coordinate mechanical integration requirements.
  • Develop and maintain component and PCB footprint libraries according to design and manufacturing requirements.
  • Work with SMT, through-hole, BGA, and other PCB assembly technologies, including dual-sided and multilayer PCB designs.
  • Apply appropriate PCB design guidelines, DFM/DFA practices, and relevant IPC standards throughout the design process.
  • Work closely with PCB fabricators and contract manufacturers to resolve technical queries and address manufacturing issues.
  • Review PCB fabrication and assembly feedback and incorporate necessary design improvements.
  • Support prototype bring-up, debugging, design validation, and engineering changes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure PCB designs meet electrical, mechanical, thermal, manufacturing, and system-level requirements.

What We're Looking For

  • 4–5 years of hands-on experience in PCB design and development.
  • Strong experience in analog, digital, and power circuit design.
  • Proven expertise in schematic capture, PCB layout, component selection, footprint creation, and BOM generation.
  • Strong understanding of high-speed PCB design, including differential pair routing, impedance control, length matching, and signal integrity.
  • Experience designing multilayer PCBs, preferably 6–12 layer boards.
  • Good understanding of PCB stack-up design and layer management.
  • Experience with DC-DC converters and power supply PCB design.
  • Experience with SMT, through-hole, BGA, dual-sided, and multilayer PCB technologies.
  • Good understanding of PCB fabrication, assembly processes, DFM/DFA, and manufacturing constraints.
  • Understanding of relevant IPC standards and PCB design guidelines.
  • Altium Designer – Schematic Capture and PCB Layout
  • Cadence OrCAD Capture – Schematic Design
  • CAM350 – PCB/CAM Review and Manufacturing Data Verification
  • ECAD/MCAD tools for STEP file generation and mechanical integration.

Nice to Have

  • Experience designing PCBs for robotics, industrial automation, embedded systems, or other high-reliability applications.
  • Understanding of signal integrity (SI), power integrity (PI), EMI/EMC, and thermal considerations.
  • Experience working with PCB fabrication houses and contract manufacturers.
  • Experience supporting prototype builds, board bring-up, debugging, and design validation.
  • Knowledge of component lifecycle management, alternate component selection, and design-for-cost.
  • Experience with ECAD–MCAD collaboration and mechanical enclosure integration.
  • Familiarity with PCB testing and manufacturing processes such as AOI, ICT, flying probe, and functional testing.

Education

B.E. / B.Tech / M.E. / M.Tech in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, or a related discipline.
