Job Summary
We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Assistant Manager – Offshore Accounting to join our US Accounting team. The ideal candidate will have strong accounting and financial reporting knowledge, excellent communication skills, and the ability to independently manage day-to-day accounting activities while supporting junior accountants and coordinating with U.S.-based clients.
The role requires strong attention to detail, client-handling skills, and familiarity with U.S. accounting practices and accounting software.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Financial Reporting
- Review and verify daily accounting entries prepared by junior accountants.
- Manage day-to-day accounting activities in the absence of junior team members.
- Ensure accurate and timely recording of financial transactions.
- Prepare and deliver monthly financial reports within defined timelines.
- Review accounting records and ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
- Ensure adherence to standard accounting procedures and internal controls.
- Assist in identifying and resolving accounting discrepancies.
U.S. Client Management
- Communicate professionally with U.S.-based clients through email and virtual meetings.
- Understand client requirements and provide timely responses to accounting-related queries.
- Coordinate with clients for required financial information, documents, and clarifications.
- Maintain strong and professional client relationships.
U.S. Tax & Compliance
- Prepare and support Sales Tax Returns.
- Ensure accounting activities are performed in accordance with applicable compliance requirements.
- Support the team in maintaining proper documentation and records for compliance purposes.
Team Coordination & Support
- Review work performed by junior accountants and provide necessary guidance.
- Support team members in resolving complex accounting issues.
- Ensure daily, monthly, and reporting activities are completed within deadlines.
- Coordinate with internal teams to ensure smooth delivery of accounting services.
Required Skills & Competencies
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Knowledge of U.S. Accounting will be an added advantage.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
- Ability to communicate professionally with international clients.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to independently manage accounting activities and deadlines.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.
Software Proficiency
- QuickBooks
- Sage
- NetSuite
- Microsoft Excel
Qualifications & Experience
- Chartered Accountant (CA) is mandatory.
- 3–4 years of relevant accounting experience.
- Experience in US Accounting / Offshore Accounting / KPO will be preferred.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and reconciliations.
- Experience in client-facing accounting roles will be an added advantage.
