About the Company

Metal Power Analytical is a manufacturing company focused on specialized analytical instrumentation, including spectrometers. The company supports customers that depend on reliable measurement solutions for operational, quality, and process-related requirements. Its commercial teams connect technical product capabilities with practical customer needs, helping organizations evaluate, adopt, and sustain suitable analytical systems. This role contributes to the company’s growth by expanding market presence, developing qualified opportunities, and strengthening customer relationships across assigned territories. The position works closely with the Regional Sales Manager to convert market understanding into regional sales outcomes. Success requires a customer-oriented approach, strong communication, disciplined follow-through, and the ability to influence stakeholders through credible technical and commercial conversations. The Sales Engineer will also protect long-term business value by monitoring competitors, supporting post-sales requirements, maintaining accurate client information, and ensuring payment recovery within agreed contractual terms.

About the Role

As Sales Engineer, you will own opportunity generation and client development for spectrometers across assigned markets. You will translate customer needs, industry developments, expansion plans, and project signals into qualified sales opportunities that support regional targets. Working with the Regional Sales Manager, you will manage relationships, strengthen market penetration, and influence buying decisions through clear technical and commercial communication. The role also owns the quality of client information, competitor intelligence, post-sales documentation, and payment follow-up. Your impact will be measured through stronger opportunity conversion, improved customer coverage, better sales decisions, and timely commercial closure. This is a customer-facing role requiring structured execution, technical curiosity, persuasive communication, and consistent accountability from first contact through payment recovery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and develop qualified opportunities for spectrometers by mapping target accounts, understanding application needs, and converting market signals into pipeline that supports regional sales targets.
  • Build and maintain trusted client relationships by listening carefully, asking relevant questions, understanding requirements, and positioning suitable solutions that improve adoption, satisfaction, and account value.
  • Research market needs, expansions, upcoming projects, and industry developments to guide territory priorities, improve market penetration, and help the Regional Sales Manager focus resources on high-potential opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate and current client information, including organizational context, operational requirements, decision stakeholders, opportunity status, and follow-up actions, enabling better account planning and forecasting.
  • Monitor competitor strategies, strengths, weaknesses, pricing signals, and positioning, while analyzing lost opportunities to improve differentiation, objection handling, and future sales conversion.
  • Coordinate required post-sales documentation and customer support inputs so service commitments remain clear, customer confidence is protected, and product adoption continues after commercial closure.
  • Track agreed payment terms and actively support payment recovery by maintaining commercial follow-up, escalating risks appropriately, and protecting cash realization alongside revenue growth.

Essential Skills & Technologies

  • Clear and confident communication skills, with the ability to present technical concepts simply, engage customer stakeholders professionally, and influence buying decisions through relevant business and application conversations.
  • Strong learning agility, demonstrated through the ability to quickly understand new products, applications, industry concepts, and customer requirements, then explain them accurately to different audiences.
  • Customer orientation expressed through active listening, thoughtful questioning, requirement discovery, and solution positioning that connects technical capabilities with practical customer priorities.
  • Ownership and discipline in follow-up, reporting, CRM updating, opportunity execution, documentation, payment coordination, and timely closure of agreed actions.
  • Drive and resilience to pursue targets, handle rejection constructively, maintain momentum through extended sales cycles, and remain effective while traveling extensively across assigned markets.
  • Hands-on experience with Salesforce, HubSpot, or comparable CRM platforms is an added advantage; industry background is not a constraint for candidates with strong technical B2B sales capability.
  • B.E. or B.Tech in Mechanical, Metallurgy, Electronics, Electrical, Instrumentation, or a related discipline; B.Sc. in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, or another science stream; or a technical diploma. Academic percentage should be above 70%.

Additional Plus

  • Experience in technical B2B sales, including target ownership, distributor management, channel coordination, or direct customer selling, with evidence of consistent follow-up and commercial execution.
  • Experience selling technical, industrial, analytical, laboratory, engineering, or instrumentation products, although prior industry experience is not mandatory when communication and technical selling skills are strong.
  • Hands-on use of Salesforce, HubSpot, or another CRM platform for opportunity tracking, reporting, follow-up management, forecasting, and customer information maintenance.

What You'll Bring

  • Technical B2B sales experience with evidence of managing targets, developing opportunities, presenting solutions, and progressing customer conversations from initial requirement discovery through commercial closure.
  • A relevant technical qualification with academic performance above 70%, including engineering, science, or technical diploma backgrounds aligned with the role’s product and customer requirements.
  • Clear, confident, and presentable communication, with the ability to understand new concepts quickly, explain technical information simply, and build credibility with varied customer stakeholders.
  • Customer-oriented selling behavior, including active listening, thoughtful questioning, accurate requirement understanding, and solution recommendations grounded in customer applications rather than generic product promotion.
  • Strong ownership and discipline in follow-up, reporting, CRM usage, documentation, execution, and payment coordination, with reliable closure of commitments made to customers and internal teams.
  • Drive and resilience to pursue targets consistently, respond constructively to rejection, sustain effort through long sales cycles, and travel extensively to support customer and business development requirements.
  • Distributor or channel sales experience is relevant, particularly where the candidate has managed targets, relationships, reporting, and execution accountability. Industry is not a constraint when the candidate demonstrates learning agility and technical sales effectiveness.
  • Selection should prioritize communication, learning agility, customer orientation, ownership, discipline, drive, resilience, and technical selling ability alongside relevant experience and qualifications.
