Min Experience: 2+ years
Location: Bengaluru
JobType: full-time

We are looking for a CAE Model Build Engineer with 2–5 years of experience in crash simulation model preparation and finite element preprocessing. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on expertise in ANSA preprocessor, meshing, and crash model build, with a good understanding of CAD geometry and LS-DYNA deck preparation.

The role involves converting CAD geometry into simulation-ready finite element models, building and modifying subsystems, ensuring proper connectivity between components, and integrating multiple subsystems into complete LS-DYNA crash simulation decks. The candidate will work closely with CAE, design, and simulation teams to deliver accurate, robust, and analysis-ready models within project timelines.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform meshing from CAD geometry using ANSA and create high-quality finite element meshes suitable for crash analysis.
  • Build complete CAE models from CAD data while maintaining appropriate element quality, mesh density, and geometric representation.
  • Create, add, modify, and replace parts within existing subsystems based on simulation and design requirements.
  • Ensure proper connectivity between parts, including appropriate interfaces, contacts, connections, and related model definitions.
  • Integrate and connect two or more subsystems to create a complete LS-DYNA crash simulation deck.
  • Perform model checks to identify and resolve issues related to mesh quality, free edges, penetrations, connectivity, duplicate elements, and disconnected components.
  • Support model preparation and updates based on engineering changes, design iterations, and simulation requirements.
  • Work with CAD geometry and engineering data to understand component interfaces and translate design intent into CAE models.
  • Prepare, modify, and maintain LS-DYNA decks as required for crash simulation activities.
  • Coordinate with CAE analysts and other engineering teams to resolve model-building and integration issues.
  • Follow established modeling standards, quality procedures, naming conventions, and project-specific guidelines.
  • Ensure timely delivery of high-quality crash models while maintaining accuracy and consistency across different vehicle or subsystem programs.

Must-Have Skills

  • 2–5 years of relevant experience in CAE model building, preferably in automotive crash simulation.
  • Strong hands-on experience in model build for Crash applications.
  • Proficiency in ANSA preprocessor.
  • Strong understanding of meshing and finite element model build.
  • Experience creating and modifying simulation-ready models from CAD geometry.
  • Good understanding of part connectivity and subsystem integration.
  • Ability to troubleshoot model quality and connectivity issues independently.
  • Familiarity with crash simulation modeling practices and engineering standards.

Good-to-Have Skills

  • Practical exposure to CAD geometry and interpretation of engineering drawings/models.
  • Experience working with LS-DYNA decks.
  • Knowledge of LS-DYNA keywords, contacts, connections, and basic model setup.
  • Experience creating, adding, replacing, or modifying components within existing CAE models.
  • Exposure to automotive body, BIW, interior, or vehicle crash simulation projects.
  • Understanding of different mesh types, element quality criteria, and model validation techniques.
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional CAE and engineering teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automobile Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 2–5 years of hands-on experience in CAE preprocessing and crash model building.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Good communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple model-building activities and deliverables within defined timelines.
