About the role
We're looking for a Senior Android Developer to join our Mobile Engineering team and help us build world-class streaming experiences used by millions of sports fans worldwide.
You will work on a large-scale Android application, collaborating closely with engineers, QA, product managers, designers, and backend teams to deliver high-quality features and continuously improve app performance, reliability, and user experience.
Experience in video streaming, media playback, or connected devices is highly desirable and will be considered a strong advantage.
What you'll do
- Design and develop Android applications using modern Android technologies and best practices.
- Build scalable, maintainable, and well-tested solutions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and deliver new features.
- Drive technical discussions and contribute to architectural decisions.
- Review code and mentor other engineers.
- Investigate and resolve performance, stability, and reliability issues.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of engineering practices, tooling, and development processes.
- 5+ years of professional Android development experience.
- Strong knowledge of Kotlin.
- Experience with Coroutines and asynchronous programming.
- Strong understanding of Android architectural patterns including MVVM, MVP, and Clean Architecture.
- Experience with Jetpack libraries and modern Android development practices.
- Hands-on experience with ExoPlayer and/or Media3.
- Experience working with multi-module Android projects.
- Experience with dependency injection frameworks such as Dagger and Hilt.
- Solid understanding of mobile application design patterns and software engineering principles.
- Experience working with REST APIs.
- Knowledge of testing practices and CI/CD workflows.
- Experience with code reviews and collaborative software development.
- Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
- Good communication skills and ability to work in an international environment.
- Experience with video streaming technologies.
- Knowledge of DRM solutions (Widevine, PlayReady, FairPlay).
- Experience with live streaming or OTT platforms.
- Experience with Chromecast / Google Cast.
- Understanding of video analytics and monitoring solutions.
- Experience with feature flag solutions (e.g. Firebase Remote Config).
- Experience working at scale with applications serving millions of users.
- Experience with RxJava.
