Technical Specifications

  • Minimum 10+ years of experience as a Data Architect, with proven expertise in developing and implementing data strategies and data architecture designs.
  • Strong understanding of cloud-based data warehousing and lakehouse methodologies, including Microsoft Fabric, Snowflake, and Databricks.
  • Mandatory experience with: Microsoft Fabric, Databricks, Snowflake, SQL, and PySpark.
  • Thorough understanding of data governance and security principles, along with experience in data pipelines and ETL/ELT tools, including Azure Data Factory (ADF), Synapse, and dbt.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills are essential.
  • Proficiency in PySpark and/or SQL, with knowledge of data patterns, data modelling (both Dimensional and Data Vault), and data/product migration.
  • Good-to-have skills include data visualisation and analytics using Power BI or Tableau.


Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive data strategy aligned with business objectives.
  • Design and architect a modern data platform using cloud technologies such as AWS and/or Azure.
  • Build and manage a scalable and secure data warehouse, leveraging modern data solutions and implementing data ingestion pipelines for various data sources.
  • Implement CI/CD pipelines for data pipelines and infrastructure using DevOps tools and methodologies.
  • Implement data governance and security best practices to ensure data quality, compliance, and effective metadata management.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements, develop data models, and build analytics solutions to support reporting, analytics, and AI initiatives.
  • Stay updated on emerging data technologies, recommend innovations, and evaluate and recommend appropriate cloud data platforms.
  • Lead and manage a team of data engineers, providing technical guidance, monitoring end-to-end operational processes, and overseeing the development and maintenance of data pipelines to ensure quality, reliability, security, and scalability.
  • Assess existing architecture and data maturity, identify gaps, propose solutions, and implement dimensional modelling, business-domain data conversion, and Data Vault design patterns.


Required Skillset:

  • ETL or ELT: Fabric, Snowflake, Databricks (Mandatory), AWS Glue/ ADF/ Synapse/ Fivetran/dbt (Anyone - Mandatory).
  • Data Warehousing: Fabric Lakehouse and Warehouse or Azure Databricks - Mandatory; Snowflake, Azure SQL, Redshift – (Good to have).
  • Cloud Experience: Azure (Mandatory), AWS (Secondary/Preferred)
  • Quality, Reliability, Security, and Scalability- Data Pipelines
  • PySpark / SQL programming languages
  • Data Visualization: Power BI/Tableau. (Anyone-Good to have).
  • AI platforms
  • Data Governance (Purview).
  • Data Modelling.
