Job Purpose

The Head – Industrialization will lead the Industrialization function and drive

standardization, cost optimization, productivity improvement, and technical

excellence across garment manufacturing operations. The role will establish robust

manufacturing standards from product development through bulk production,

ensuring accurate SMV, costing, consumption, CPM, technical feasibility, and SOP

implementation.


Key Responsibilities

1. SMV – Method & Time Study

  • Lead method study, time study, operation breakdown, and SMV setting

for new and existing styles.

  • Establish accurate and achievable SMVs based on standardized methods,

machines, and operator performance.

  • Identify productivity improvement opportunities through method engineering,

line balancing and process optimization.

  • Periodically review SMVs against actual production performance and update

standards where required.


2. Product Costing

  • Drive accurate product costing covering fabric, trims, sewing, processing,

overheads, efficiency, rejection, and other manufacturing parameters.

  • Validate costing assumptions with actual manufacturing data and ensure cost

competitiveness.

  • Support Merchandising, Sourcing, and Manufacturing teams during product

development and order finalization.

  • Identify cost-reduction opportunities without compromising quality or product

specifications.


3. CPM – Cost Per Minute

  • Establish and maintain standardized CPM benchmarks across products,

operations, and manufacturing units.

  • Analyze actual versus standard CPM and identify key cost and efficiency

gaps.

  • Work closely with IE and Production teams to improve operational efficiency

and manufacturing cost performance.


4. Consumption

  • Drive accurate fabric and garment consumption standards during product

development and pre-production.

  • Validate consumption through marker efficiency, fabric width, shrinkage,

construction, and wastage parameters.

  • Monitor actual versus standard consumption and initiate corrective actions for

deviations.


5. Technical Support

  • Provide technical support for new product development, proto/sample,

pre-production, and bulk production.

  • Evaluate manufacturing feasibility, construction, operation sequence, machine

requirements, and process risks.

  • Resolve technical issues in coordination with Design, Merchandising, Quality,

Production, and Sourcing teams.


6. SOP & amp; Documentation

  • Develop and maintain standardized SOPs, work instructions, technical standards, and process documentation.
  • Ensure effective implementation of industrialization standards across factories.
  • Establish systems for periodic review, audit, and continuous improvement of technical standards.


Key Competencies

  • Strong expertise in Industrial Engineering, garment manufacturing, SMV, costing, CPM, and consumption.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and process improvement skills.
  • Strong understanding of garment construction, manufacturing processes, and production systems.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive standardization across multiple manufacturing units.
  • Strong communication, documentation, and stakeholder-management skills.


Experience & amp; Qualification

  • 10–15+ years of relevant experience in garment manufacturing / Industrial Engineering / Industrialization.
  • Degree/Diploma in Textile Technology, Apparel Technology, Industrial Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Strong proficiency in Excel, ERP systems, and industrial engineering tools.
