Position/Title - Senior Manager - Engineering (Dot Net)
The VP / Sr Director of Engineering will be a key member of the technology and business leadership team, responsible for transforming and leading Engineering as a strategic business capability that enables the company's growth, customer and product ambitions.
The role will combine business understanding, product thinking, technology leadership and organizational transformation to translate company strategy into engineering priorities, investment decisions, operating models and measurable customer and business outcomes.
This role will report to the CTO and work closely with Product, Customer Success, Professional Services, Sales, and other business leaders to understand customer needs, market opportunities, and business priorities, and bring them together into a coherent Engineering strategy and execution agenda.
The role will own engineering strategy and execution across product development, architecture, quality, delivery, platform, cloud and engineering operations, while driving improvements in speed, quality, productivity, scalability, cost efficiency and customer value.
Beyond running the existing organization, this leader will be expected to challenge the status quo, simplify and modernize the engineering landscape, leverage AI and automation, build organizational capabilities for scale, and lead significant transformation across Engineering.
Education:
B.E/B.Tech in Computer Science from Premier Institutions only.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Business, Product & Customer Leadership
- Develop a deep understanding of the company's business model, customers, products, competitive environment, and growth strategy, and use this understanding to shape Engineering priorities.
- Partner closely with Product and business leadership to determine where Engineering investment will create the greatest customer and business value.
- Connect product strategy, customer needs, engineering capacity, technology investments, and business priorities into a single, coherent execution agenda.
- Ensure Engineering understands the business context and “why” behind customer and product requirements, rather than simply executing technical specifications.
- Balance new product development, customer commitments, platform investment, technical debt, modernization, and operational priorities through clear prioritization and trade-offs.
- Participate in strategic customer discussions where Engineering leadership can materially influence customer confidence, product adoption, or business outcomes.
- Bring an enterprise perspective, ensuring Engineering optimizes for overall company outcomes rather than functional objectives.
- Define and own the Engineering vision, strategy, operating model, goals, and multi-year roadmap aligned with company strategy.
- Translate company and product strategy into clear engineering priorities, sequencing, investment decisions, and execution plans.
- Lead the transformation of Engineering capabilities, organization, processes, and culture to support the company's next phase of growth.
- Identify and eliminate organizational, technical and process constraints that limit speed, quality, scalability, productivity and innovation.
- Establish clear accountability for engineering outcomes
- Act as a catalyst for change, challenging existing assumptions and continuously looking for ways to improve how Engineering delivers value
- Provide strong technical leadership and guidance across enterprise architecture, scalability, security, reliability, APIs, distributed systems, data platforms, and integrations.
- Champion Secure SDLC, secure coding, observability, resilience engineering, performance engineering, CI/CD, deployment safety, and automation.
- Drive a deliberate approach to technical debt, legacy modernization and platform simplification, with clear prioritization based on business impact and risk.
- Ensure technology choices enable future product evolution and do not unnecessarily constrain business agility.
- Build a high-performing Engineering organization with strong leadership depth and succession.
- Hire, develop, and retain strong Engineering leaders and senior technical talent.
- Establish a culture of ownership, accountability, customer focus, and continuous improvement.

Must Haves
- 15–20+ years of relevant technology/engineering experience, including at least 5+ years in senior Engineering leadership roles such as Director, Sr Director or VP.
- Experience in top-tier software product organizations, preferably in enterprise B2B software.
- Proven experience building and scaling enterprise SaaS, cloud-based or large-scale software product engineering organizations.
- Demonstrated track record of transforming an Engineering organization, including changes to organization structure, operating model, processes, culture and engineering practices.
- Strong understanding of business and product strategy, with the ability to translate business objectives into engineering strategy and investment priorities.
- Proven experience partnering closely with Product and business leadership to deliver customer and business outcomes, not simply technology deliverables.
- Experience leading large-scale, highly available and complex software products or platforms.
- Strong architecture and system-design depth, with the ability to guide and challenge complex technical decisions.
- Strong understanding of modern enterprise architecture, distributed systems, data-intensive applications, cloud platforms and modern SDLC practices.
- Demonstrated track record of hiring, developing and retaining Engineering leaders and building high-performing organizations.
- Proven ability to manage competing priorities and make difficult trade-offs between customer commitments, product roadmap, technology investment, technical debt, cost and risk.
- Strong financial and commercial acumen, including understanding of engineering economics, capacity, investment and ROI.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders across Product, Business and Technology.
- Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in ambiguous, fast-changing and transformation-oriented environments.
- Experience with ERP, SCM, financial technology or other complex enterprise business applications.
- Experience working with complex B2B customers and enterprise implementations.

- Strong understanding of modern enterprise architecture, distributed systems, APIs, data platforms, integration patterns, and cloud-native architectures.
- Strong experience with enterprise technology stacks including Java/J2EE, Spring/Spring Boot, .NET/C# and related enterprise application frameworks.
- Experience with microservices/service-oriented architectures, relational and non-relational databases, messaging/event-driven architectures and enterprise integrations.
- Strong understanding of AWS/Azure or equivalent cloud platforms, CI/CD, DevOps, containerization, observability and secure software engineering.
- Experience with modern engineering practices across architecture, development, QA automation, DevSecOps, performance, scalability, and reliability.
- Able to engage deeply with architects and senior engineers and challenge technology choices based on business requirements, scalability, risk, cost, and long-term product strategy.
- Technology/framework expertise is important, but the expectation is breadth and technical judgment rather than hands-on coding in a specific stack.
