Assistant Manager - International Procurement

Key Responsibilities
- Manage international procurement of chemicals, aroma ingredients, essential oils, and packaging materials.
- Identify, evaluate and develop overseas suppliers and manufacturers for strategic sourcing.
- Negotiate pricing, payment terms, lead times, contracts and supply agreements with international vendors.
- Handle end-to-end import procurement processes including purchase orders, shipment coordination, and delivery tracking.
- Coordinate import documentation such as Commercial Invoice, Packing List, Bill of Lading (BL), Airway Bill (AWB), COO, Insurance and customs-related documents.
- Work closely with SCM, logistics, warehouse, finance and QA/QC teams to ensure smooth import operations.
- Monitor inventory levels and procurement planning to maintain uninterrupted supply and optimized stock levels.
- Conduct global market research, supplier benchmarking, and cost analysis to identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Manage supplier performance, quality issues, shipment delays, claims and corrective actions.
- Prepare procurement MIS reports, import cost analysis, and vendor performance reports for management.
- Ensure ERP updates, purchase documentation, and procurement records are maintained accurately.
- Maintain compliance with import regulations, international trade policies, and company procurement standards.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with international suppliers, freight forwarders, shipping lines and CHA agents.
- Support management in strategic sourcing, budgeting, and international procurement planning.
- Education: B.Sc. / B.Com + Diploma in International Trade
- Experience: Minimum 10 years in International Procurement / Import Purchase
- Preferred Industry: Trading Organizations - Chemicals, Aroma Chemicals, Essential Oils, Fragrances, FMCG Raw Materials
- International sourcing and vendor management
- Strong negotiation and communication skills
- Knowledge of import documentation and international trade procedures
- Understanding of INCOTERMS, freight, customs clearance, and logistics coordination
- Strong analytical and cost management skills
- ERP and procurement reporting knowledge
