WordPress Developer

About the Role

We're looking for a skilled and motivated PHP / WordPress Developer to join our growing team at Task Troopers. You'll work on real-world projects, building and customizing WordPress websites, developing WooCommerce solutions, integrating APIs, and solving technical challenges for domestic and international clients. We're looking for someone who doesn't just write code but also understands requirements, thinks through problems, and builds reliable solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, customize, and maintain websites using Core PHP and WordPress.
• Build and customize WordPress themes, plugins, custom post types, hooks, filters, and shortcodes.
• Develop and optimize WooCommerce stores, including cart, checkout, payment gateways, and custom functionality.
• Integrate third-party APIs, plugins, and external services.
• Troubleshoot bugs, resolve technical issues, and improve website performance.
• Write clean, secure, maintainable, and efficient code.
• Collaborate with designers, developers, and project managers to deliver projects on time.
• Ensure websites are responsive, secure, and optimized for performance.

Required Skills

• 1–3 years of hands-on WordPress development experience.
• Strong understanding of Core PHP and OOP concepts.
• Experience with WordPress theme and plugin customization.
• Working knowledge of WooCommerce customization.
• Proficiency in HTML, CSS, Bootstrap, JavaScript, jQuery, and MySQL.
• Understanding of REST APIs and WordPress REST API.
• Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with a team.

Good to Have (Optional)

• Experience with ACF (Advanced Custom Fields) / ACF Pro for building dynamic WordPress websites.
• Hands-on experience in custom WordPress template development using PHP, HTML, CSS, and ACF.
• Experience with Elementor, Gutenberg, or other page builders.
• Familiarity with Git and version control.
• Basic knowledge of hosting, deployment, and server management.
• Understanding of website security and performance optimization.
