Modularity Engineer
TVS Motor Company
Required Experience: 4 to 8 years
Purpose of the role
To execute modular product architecture and platform engineering activities across EV, CNG, and ICE vehicle programs by developing reusable modules, standardizing interfaces and components, supporting validation, and delivering cost, quality, and timing targets.
Role Description
1. Develop and maintain modular product concepts, module breakdowns, product architecture documentation, and platform configuration data for assigned vehicle programs.
2. Identify opportunities for component commonality, standardization, and carry-over usage across variants and platforms, supported by engineering and cost analysis.
3. Prepare module interface requirements, design guidelines, engineering specifications, and checklists in coordination with system and component owners.
4. Create and update CAD models, drawings, BOMs, interface matrices, and PLM records in line with applicable standards and release processes.
5. Support design reviews, DFMEA, DFM/DFA, tolerance analysis, design verification, and product validation; track issues through technical closure.
6. Execute VAVE and BOM optimization studies, evaluate alternative concepts and materials, and support implementation of approved cost-reduction ideas.
7. Coordinate with Purchase, Manufacturing, Quality, Testing, Program Management, and suppliers to ensure manufacturability and timely delivery of modular solutions.
8. Conduct competitor benchmarking and technology studies, document findings, and translate relevant insights into engineering improvement proposals.
9. Track assigned program milestones, engineering changes, reuse and commonality metrics, cost targets, validation status, and technical risks; report progress regularly.
